Since nobody's started the GDT yet, I'll have to do it ... let's hope I don't ruin their luck.

This will be the 3rd time we face the Sabres, whose hope for the season at this point is finish as low as they can - at least for the fans. Yet, we can't beat them in both cases, and we'll get another shot tonight.

We played last night, but so did the lowly Sabres, so there's really no excuse.

Miller gets the start for them, Reimer is most likely gonna get the start for us tonight.

IF we win tonight's game (and it's an IF anytime we face Miller) it'd be 3 in a row, which sorta stops the bleeding and get us back on a bit of a run. We'll need every point we can the rest of the way just to make playoff, thanks for the terrible Nov and Dec.

The team should have plenty of confident now we beat our nemesis and the Eastern champ - in regulation too!

Reimer will be rusty, at the very least, so let's hope we play a smart road game tonight and limit on the Sabres' chances.

Go Leafs Go!!!

This is a must win for the Leafs and really a game they should win that being said this is a classic "trap game". The Leafs are coming off a big win in Boston and they are known to get ****y after a big win and follow it up with a big loss the following game, lets just hope they have done some growing up and realized a win is just a win and they have to treat the next game as a brand new one starting from scratch.

Very important game for the Leafs to keep their improved play going. If not, jeepers, this team could well end up sinking out of the playoffs. If Carlyle keeps up the line usage from last night, they should be good to win.

Playing the worst defensive forwards all on one line while playing them together with the worst defensive defensemen we have might not be the best idea, Randy. How about mixing up the d core and the forwards like he did last night against Boston?

youreachiteach
01-15-2014, 08:05 PM
I'm starting to think that entire group of five is the one the GM is forcing Randy to play (maybe with the exception of Lupul) so playing the together lets him limit their exposure and protects the team when/if they are traded.

I'm really not sure why randy keeps raymond and lupul together - they've literally never worked on the same line, and now he refuses to split them.

I think we got another steal in Holland. Those were some sweet hands on the Kuly goal. He's big, he is good on the boards. He plays a simple game. But he has skill. He's already a solid third line center. Pretty much got him for nothing.

01-16-2014, 02:00 PM
First thing first, it's always good to get a W.

Did we play a solid game? Well, I think we showed pretty of fight, a lot of energy and we competed hard for the 2 points - albeit still with plenty of flaws in our game, especially with giveaways and defensive coverage.

- As I said after the Bruins game, it's only a matter of time the Holland line scores ... they had another solid game, keeping the puck deep in the offensize zone most of the times, and the goal (which was a key one) came off a strong forecheck by Holland, stripping the puck from the dman, then fancy work to get it to the middle, making an excellent pass to Kuley, who picked the corner behind a screened Miller. Clarkson did his part for screening Miller completely. This has the makeup of a very good line.

- Gardiner had a better game, where when in trouble he did try to skate himself out of trouble, creating space and time for himself with his skating. It was Franson who reclaimed the title for most brutal giveaways.

- No surprise Reimer was rusty, but he fought through the game to get 2 points.

It wasn't pretty, but we got 2 points vs. the weakest team in the NHL and taht's what matters. Hope we can play better next game.

Volcanologist
01-16-2014, 02:08 PM
