2016-17 Leafs - Habs - Sens

Apparently Landeskog's shot generation has been falling for a few years. Not sure I'd pay a lot for him if I needed offense.

I agree. I mentioned Landeskog because I think he can be had for much less than Duchene or MacKinnon.

Unfortunately you may be right. I can see Bergevin pulling a Shaw deal and offering two seconds for him.

Unfortunately you may be right. I can see Bergevin pulling a Shaw deal and offering two seconds for him.
With the Habs being a division rival, with Lou knowing he's got Bergevin over a barrel, and with the Leafs maybe not being ready to trade away Bozak quite yet, that might actually not be enough. I mean, just look at what the Leafs had to trade for Peter ****ing Holland when we were in similarly dire straits at center.

Meh, there are other centers available that are the caliber of Holland much cheaper. Maybe Bergevin coughs up his first, maybe he doesn't. Losing two of your top three centers for two months has to make a GM take pause on giving up a first. Especially with what happened last year.

Beauzaque isn't the only C out there. Habs aren't going to have to overpay for plan B.
Likewise, there's really no reason for the Leafs to settle for what Montreal's willing to give up, and there's no urgency on their end to make a Bozak deal. They can trade him anytime between now and then 2017/18 trade deadline.

Also, when you're trying to win this season, when your #1 & #3 centers are out for 6-8 weeks, and when your "#2 center" has two goals & nine points in 26 games and when the team as a whole had already been having troubles scoring even before the injuries, I guarantee that the Habs will "overpay" for any center they acquire, even if they're of Peter Holland's calibre.

When other GM's know you're drowning, they're more apt to throw you an anchor than a life jacket.
