OT: American Politics

The fact that attention gets him more $, does not mean that he should have to choose between being intelligent, a troll, or business person, to be taken seriously.

Of course it does. Is he a shock jock waiting for a call from Howard Stern on a broadcast contract or is he a semi serious thinker and legitimate defender of the concept of free speech? His intent has direct linkage with whether or not he should be taken seriously by anyone. If he's motivated by profit and profit alone, why should we take anything he says as a true statement of his beliefs? If they aren't true statements of his beliefs, why bother listening at all?

His success is largely from being more than one thing.

Is it really? If left wing fringe nutters had the good sense to ignore his blatant trolling, his only tiny bit of noteworthyness would be as the gay guy that works at Breitbart.

The guys that do the best with women are good men with an edge. Nobody wants someone that's just intelligent, or just ambitious, etc

I know you get asked this a lot...but, what the **** are you on about?

If being the main word there..you don't know if any of those things are true..and if they are true..what percent are his views based on getting more attention/what he actually believes, etc.

Again, people don't have to behave how you want them to be taken seriously. Steve Jobs was the biggest ******* ever..

It's not related..I went off-topic..but nevertheless...it's ok to sometimes say that you don't understand something.
There's plenty you don't know, and you show this day in and day out. Reading wikipedia articles can only get you so far.

Its not the views he needs to drop to be taken seriously. Its the attacking. Like last night on the panel he called Larry Wilmore and Malcom Nance low IQ idiots. Like him calling feminists ugly. Retweeting a bunch of racist stuff about Leslie Jones.

Its all that stuff that just riles up headlines and destroys his credibility.

That is what makes him an entertainer and not a commentator.

People here call each other idiots all the time. Idiot.

I can call you ugly, and you could go on and easily find worth because your a great artist, or you have a great family/friends, or whatever. I don't have to respect you for your looks..if you're hot or ugly. I should be free to call you ugly if I want.

Well you're free to... but why do you feel the need to marginalize or degrade people over their appearance?

His words and actions will give certain indications on what he actually believes and what is stage craft.

But he was serious about what he believed in. That's kind of my point here.

Heh, so you go off on a ridiculous tangent that had absolutely nothing to do with what we were discussing and it's my comprehension problem. Gotcha.

There's plenty you don't know, and you show this day in and day out.

There's plenty any of us don't know. I fail to see how this is a relevant point, even in conjunction with the other irrelevant junk you decided to toss out.

It's gotten me further than your degree has gotten you....

There, now go make something of yourself.

Just to clarify...the 'I' is me putting myself in a scenario...for illustration purposes. I don't actually do that. lol I don't see the benefit. But if people do it, it's not a big deal imo.

Seth McFarlane tweeted this old 1947 anti fascism film. still relevant

Taken over universities? I'm not that long out of university... Ugg boots and ombré hair and lulu lemon pants and pumpkin spice lattes. Those are the things that have taken over universities. The uniform.

Yeah, I see university girls and there are far more who spending a lot of money on beauty products than those who fit the description of not caring about their looks.

You can call someone ugly. That person also has the free speech ability to call you an *******, and don't be surprised if other people do.

Free Speech does not shield you from being criticized for what you say.

I'm calling bullshit on this.

Most University students are not that involved in the political/policy aspect of a University. Heck, most people are not even involved in the fun stuff like sports. The people that are the most interested in the student federation (not surprisingly) happen to be feminist activists/sjw's/minorities. So yes, the average girl does not know what the heck is going on, just like the average guy. Those girls accept nature, and behave accordingly.
