Habs News & Notes: 2019 Offseason

Re: Habs News & Notes: 2017 Training Camp

I was disappointed to see how small he was. I think the 5'10 label is even a little generous for him. Seems closer to 5'8 or 5'9.

Which is fine, but it's will be a challenge for him.

He is barley 5'9" . He grew up with my relatives kids in Wopbridge and they are both noticeably taller than him in pictures an they are both six feet .

Plekanec with 2 goals? It'll be December before he gets that during the season.

The game yesterday was pretty boring as expected. A total no hit affair. Hudon looked decent. Galchenyuk was skating in mud. One time when he was taking it in, I said well that guy won't make the team as I didn't see the 27 on his jersey. Then Stephane said it was Galchenyuk and I went oh ****.

Drouin must want out of Montreal. He donated $500,000.00 to CHUM hospital and wants to raise $5 million more. 0k

Re: Habs News & Notes: 2017 Training Camp

I like Mete, but he's not ready for the NHL.

It's kind of sad that they sort of have to resort to trying a left handed PMD who should be junior because there's literally nobody else available at any level of the organization.

There are some rumors Girard may start the season with Preds, if this is the case i guess Mete may have a chance with us as well, i mean they are not keeping a junior player and wouldn't pair him with Weber on top pairing if they didn't have a plan for him. I know Girard has better vision and better numbers but we are talking about two players with same size and same style almost.

I highly doubt the plan is for Mete to make the team. I think this is an opportunity for Mete to learn from, and be "coached" by a player like Weber. They are setting up Mete for future success, not for this year.

Weber's partner will be either Schlemko or Benn for Game 1 in Buffalo. We'll see that pairing later in camp.

I see it the same way. Mete played a good game last night. He might be a better dman prospect than I thought he would. He is very small but when you play with a guy like Weber, he makes up for it. Good to see prospect doing well.

On the other hand, we have Sherbak he is now officially moving into bust territory. Wow he looks bad.
