2017-18 Miscellaneous News Thread

Rank improved to 75 in round 2 but missed the cut along with Woods and a few other big names. 3 amateurs made the cut including a firefighter.

Woods may have to qualify for next year's tourney.
 
Habs sign Domi to a 2 year extension, $3.15 million AAV.

No doubt, it’s been so long since we had a solid player for player trade here that I guess we all expect the Canes to be on the losing end once one finally goes down with Waddell. I liked Galchenyuk for the same reason the Yote’s have already mentioned...he’s a very skilled player and capable of playing center, the Habs were at wit’s end with the guy but he has great upside.
 
I like that deal a lot better for Phoenix. Galchenyuk just seems like a better player on every level. Domi has some upside but back to back years of 9 goals is troubling.
 
Galchenyuk is brutal defensively. Seems Julien and Bergevin had enough.

For the record I don’t like the trade. I feel there should have been a plus coming back from AZ.

Yeah ... but Domi's been in an offensive wasteland down in the desert. I think his scoring will perk up in Montreal's system.

I find it amusing that Tie Domi's kid is playing for the Habs. BTW, Max already has over half the points that Tie had in his entire 17-year career, but he'll never match his pop's PIMs.

Seems like Canadian media is counting this one as another nail in the coffin for Bergevin.
