Max traded to Golden Knights

who were some of those young players / prospects people were talking about during teh season to trade max for

and how does suzuki stack up?

i honestly hope not
keep the elite kids away from this trainwreck

He has nothing to prove in junior

96 point season followed by a 100 point season in about 65 games in both cases.

if he's the elite prospect many think he is he may progress more by playing in the NHL

well there was Anderson-Dolan from the Kings that was mentioned, I believe I heard Sam Steele was being requested as part of a trade with Anaheim,

Jaret Anderson-Dolan was a rumoured name with the Kings trade
Muzzin and him...and that was for a signed Max.

I like the current deal better.

edit: Muzzin is pretty good but he is also in the max pac range that does not fit great with the rebuild (though maybe he could have been flipped)

No reason to rush him. Let the rebuild happen properly.

well lets put in this way

chuck was scoring 2 points per game (after missing a year) ... suzuki was putting up 1.5 PPG

still a lot to prove in the OHL

i prefer the maple leafs method of not bringing ppl up until they are ready ... not the oilers method

Bergevin confirmed that they had Suzuki 11th on their list during the 2017 draft (habs were only drafting 25th and picked Poelling) so they are pleased to get him.

Bergevin just confirmed once more than Pacioretty requested a trade multiple times last year.

So the trashing of Pacioretty starts?

It's never management's fault you know.

If we suck again and are in a position to draft Hughes or one of the other stud forwards next summer what will we do? (a good dilemma I suppose)

You can never have enough quality centers. It's a good problem to have. A top 6 center will net you other needs, you trade from your strength.

Let him develop and dominate

Suzuki had 31 more points than the next guy with the Attack. That’s pretty telling...

Plus the rumors are intensifying that he did ask to get traded last year.

conveniently planted by Molson today and from Bergevin in defence of trading him, saying we had to trade him as he asked for a trade. Um no you didn't. Transparency my ass.

If Suzuki turns out, this will be a good deal. Tatar is a downgrade and 2nd round choices, well who knows, could be Subban or could be that guy who got frostbite after a kegger
