OT: American Politics

I have likely heard and read 10x on this than you have. You believe tweets as gospel.

In any event, I will never change your mind so there’s no reason to bother. Personally, it’s a ****ing embarrassment down here and I have no sympathy for either party. Let the courts decide.

this is legit just out of curiosity, but the courts that will be deciding, are the judges in them elected? or state / federal appointments?

But the judge said that no evidence was presented that would allege fraud or provide grounds for an order impounding ballots and voting machines. In fact, Scott didn't even allege fraud or that any "timely" counting law was violated in his claim, unlike what was reported/tweeted.

People really need to be taught how to ignore all the noise and think critically. A couple biased politicians tweet voter fraud and it causes a shit storm.

Scott asked to impound machines, I would have denied that too. The judges are basically saying they see incompetence, not fraud. It’s the way I see it as well.

Thats not "basically" what he said. He made no ruling on incompetence.

He literally said the claim was BS, so stop wasting the courts time and figure it out on your own. He even warned the "Parties" to tone down the rhetoric.

it should cause a shitstorm....about the fact that we have politicians nakedly lying about elections to steal them, without a care in the world about undermining electoral integrity.

nice.

House Dems’ opening salvo includes an ambitious set of democratizing priorities: restoring the voting rights act, reducing barriers to voting and reducing the role of big money in our elections. Their proposed first bill:

in this case, the judge was appointed by Jeb.

Jeb also appointed this lady getting all the heat in Broward county, btw.

Yes, that should cause a shit storm, but it shouldn't cause people to question the truth. People should be able to realize that an involved-biased party, with everything to gain, is not a reliable source, instead of saying "well there is a lot of information swirling around down here." Not enough people read critically.

you're being too kind in that diagnosis.

Sheldon Adelson, who gave $113M to GOP causes for 2018 cycle, also owns Nevada's largest news org, the Las Vegas @reviewjournal. It publishes column making utterly evidence-free claim Dems stole election there. h/t @RalstonReports

"I believe the Reid Democrat Machine copied California’s game plan and stole the election by overwhelming Nevada with illegal alien voters, voting multiple times."
This is what that huckster clown wrote & no one thought it was worth stopping. @Glenn_CookNV, have you no shame? 2/

it's more about willingly gobbling up every lie they get fed, rather than just not reading critically.

eh, I think the term "Neo-liberalism" has become too broad a term to mean much anymore.

for example, I think many politicians most defnitely have been for regulating, for increasing funding, etc. but still been labelled "neo-liberals" simply because they in any way think globalism can be good.

No idea what you're referring to, so can't respond.

Yeah, 20 years later. Better late than never, I guess. Wonder why they've suddenly grown a spine on this.

I'm astounded that the @DNC won't pounce on these GOP intentional minority voter suppression efforts. It should be all over headlines today with @TomPerez holding a press conference. This is how we set the foundation for free, fair AND verifyable elections. #ProtectOurVotes

Sarah Kendzior @sarahkendzior
As I've long screamed into the void, voter suppression and election integrity should have been the key Dem issue since 2016. Everything else depends on it or at least is heavily influenced by it.

Jeb Bush

@JebBush

There is no question that Broward County Supervisor of Elections Brenda Snipes failed to comply with Florida law on multiple counts, undermining Floridians’ confidence in our electoral process. Supervisor Snipes should be removed from her office following the recounts.

This is rich. The Republicans wouldn't touch her even with verified court proof she'd destroyed ballots in 2016. Wonder why ... could it be the challenger was a progressive and the incumbent a corporate toadie?
