Yeah, everything is shit about that franchise. It could theoretically be a good market, but they sure didn't make it easy for their fans.

Re: Around the League - Offseason 2018

Poor Arizona never had a good team though. Only one year out of 21 have they made it past the first round. And they've missed the playoffs 13 times. Vegas already won more playoff rounds than the...

Sticky: Re: Habs News & Notes: 2018 Offseason

To be fair, they've only drafted 3 wingers in the last 4 drafts. http://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/teams/dr00006929.html

    In those drafts, they drafted:

    3 wingers
    1 goalie
    13 centers
    12...

There is a part where they are debating on how to interpret the physical evaluation tests and how to apply it to the evaluation of a player, and they take turn giving their own opinion on how to...

It still feel to me like they are improvising out there. Timmins has been doing it for 14 years in the same organization, it seems like the process should well tuned by now, and yet it still felt...

Weird, I re-clicked on it and it still sent me to the draft link.

He played really well for the Ducks before his injury. He played a full season last year in the KHL without concussion symptoms. I like the move. He wants to be here, he wants to prove himself, and...

Yes, but the guaranteed money of the long term contract is attractive.

    Re: Free Agent Thread 2018

Overall I agree with you but I still think there are pros and cons.

In the case of Kucherov, first, given that his bridge deal was 4.77M, there is no way he would have settled for 6x8, but...

Actually I'm more worried about him posting a .945% next year and carrying us into the playoffs for a first round exit.

    Re: Pacioretty

Teams will want a goal scorer at the deadline for the playoffs. There is 0% chance we don't trade him then if we're not in playoff position.

    Re: Free Agent Thread 2018

3 top 2 finish in the Norris race in the past 4 years is enough to convinced me.

He spends about between 27 and 30 mins per game on the ice, very much controlling the play when he's there.

Pacioretty and Cole both had over 30 goals in 2011-12 when we finished 3rd last. Gallagher had 30 goals last year. With the defense we have, we can easily lose even if some of our forwards are...

Best case scenario for all parties is that Max has a great season, easily on pace for a 35 goals season, while the Habs have a mediocre season. There would be a betting war for his services at the...

Doughty is easily a top 5 dmen in the league. Hell he's been nominated 3 times in the last 4 years for the Norris, winning it once and finishing 2nd twice.

    Re: Free Agent Thread 2018

Bridge deals does allow you to lock up your players for their whole prime years at a fair price, but you pay a bit more for about 4-5 years in the middle of their prime.

    I bet the Islanders...

Re: Weber out 5-6 months after knee surgery

“We have a good team and we’re trying to build through the draft perhaps a little more than we have in the past few years."

Well a bit late, don't you think? Still better late than never.
