Re: OT: Team Canada and the 2015 World Juniors

I always found people who anointed Fucale, the day he was drafted, as Price's replacement 4 years down the road a little weird.

Goaltenders are the most fickle prospects around. So many of them...

Well, the way I see it, it's only partially political. If it was only political, Ivan Barbashev & Vladimir Tkachev wouldn't have been invited to camp. Difference between them & Scherbak is, they have...

The Nikolas Koberstein draft pick was a little out of left field in June and it looks even worse now. None of the draft guides had any information on him. One points in 25 USHL games. A little...

Lernout had an assist tonight as well.

19 points in 35 games this season. In his three previous seasons combined, he had 24 points.

Yeah, people who thought it was unthinkable of having Andrighetto anywhere but in the lineup are delusional. This happens every year.

That said, he probably left a good impression with the coaches...

    Re: The 2015 NHL Draft

Tavares was more hyped than Stamkos because he was the first player in the history of the CHL to get Exceptional Player Status so that he could play in the OHL at 15.

I think it was Bob McKenzie...

Sure, but are you saying that game tying goals aren't important? You limited yourself to important goals = GWG.

If Therrien is going to - and I believe it's inevitable - turn Pleks line into a checking line, I'd love it if we had Vermette on the wing. Puts up points, good defensively, versatile...

So that's how we're gonna get our big RW. We're gonna sign Kovalchuk.

The Mighty Faceoff Warrior (and otherwise useless plug) Malhotra got more ice time than Galchenyuk, btw.
  14. Re: The Good The Bad & The Ugly - Game 32 - Hurricanes vs Habs

It's why I take Eller's production in last year's playoffs with a grain of salt. The subsequent argument from some here that Eller should have gotten DD's minutes because he was producing in less TOI...

Re: OT: Team Canada and the 2015 World Juniors

Actually, I heard a good quote by Ray Ferraro, who's scored his fair share of goals as an NHLer, on Gauthier on the radio this week. I think it was on TSN 1050.

    (Paraphrasing)

    "I was watching...

Already have two in Subban & Price, plus another in the making with Galchenyuk. Granted, they'll never be on the level of Beliveau/Richard, but how many modern players are?

Bonk's Mullet ‏The Panthers-Capitals shootout went so long that by the time it ended, it was being played in Quebec City.
  18. Re: The Good The Bad & The Ugly - Game 32 - Hurricanes vs Habs

    Also, I was right.

Therrien said in the post-game press conference that that was specifically the reason Andrighetto got bumped off for Weise.

DD doesn't go against the other team's strongest defensive pairing and he suddenly looks a lot better?

    Color me shocked.

I love Weise too... On the fourth line, occasionally on the third. Nothing more.
  22. Re: Game 32 : Hurricanes vs. Canadiens : Dec. 16th, 2014

It's baffling how Therrien thinks it's a good idea to put Weise on Pleks's line over Andrighetto. Unless he's really, really worried about stopping the Gerbe - Staal - AHLer line.

    Jesus.

Bourque benefited from very shoddy goaltending. Half of his goals were routine stops.

Re: OT: Team Canada and the 2015 World Juniors

Is Mindz going to bring up some obscure stats like QoC to explain why Gauthier should make it?
