Re: Around The League: 2016 Offseason

I miss the days of people thinking I was crazy for wanting Gallagher over him.

If that means he goes back to blogging under mc79hockey, I'll be a very happy man. One of my favorite bloggers to read.

That would be my pick too, if they pick up Ben Bishop.

I think it'll be a Tampa Bay - Dallas finals.

Re: Habs trade PK Subban to Predators for Shea Weber

Berkshire's the king of putting his foot in his mouth and looking dumb years after the fact.

There are countless articles that he's written on that Habs site that make him look like a complete...

Re: Around The League: 2016 Offseason

Staal at $5.75M for five more years.
Girardi at $5.5M for four more years.
Nash at $7.8M for two more years.

Pretty much prevented them from acquiring any real free agents.

    Zibanejad is...

Re: Habs trade PK Subban to Predators for Shea Weber

Sure, but I'd argue the Forsberg for Erat trade was even more lopsided. It's literally one of the biggest heists in the history of hockey.

While we didn't get great value for Langway, we still got...

Re: Habs trade PK Subban to Predators for Shea Weber

Martin Erat for Filip Forsberg? It's just one of the most lopsided trades in recent history, no biggie.

Re: Around The League: 2016 Offseason

It's a win-now move for Ottawa. Not sure I agree with the move in general, but I kinda understand it.

New York is still in cap hell until someone is willing to take one of Staal or Girardi off of...

Re: Habs trade PK Subban to Predators for Shea Weber

READING COMPREHENSION, HOW DOES IT WORK?

Because I never said that nor did I imply that. The "merit" of Team Canada's selection process is utterly irrelevant to my point in bringing up Kris...

Re: Habs trade PK Subban to Predators for Shea Weber

You are saying me because I'm the one who brought up Kris Draper.

Again, reading comprehension, how does it work?

    Re-read my post:

I don't compare Weber to Draper.

Re: Habs trade PK Subban to Predators for Shea Weber

Not star players when you get fleeced in the deal.

It'd be one thing if this organization traded Roy for, say, Eric Lindros. But we traded him for nothing. It'd be one thing if we traded Chelios...

Re: Predictions for the 2016-2017 Habs.

Button is an imbecile when the narrative fits, Button knows a thing or two about hockey when the narrative fits.

Re: Habs trade PK Subban to Predators for Shea Weber

Right, because players never regress or live off reputations. Ever. It's not like Team Canada has ever played favorites and kept better players off teams because of it. All myths.

The only bright side to this whole ordeal is that Bergevin & Therrien will be out the door sooner than if they had kept Subban.

Re: Habs trade PK Subban to Predators for Shea Weber

Here's why I don't like the Subban trade from any angle:

1- We got the worst player in the deal. If you think Weber > Subban because he's on Team Canada, you probably thought Kris Draper > Sidney...

Re: Lineup Your Line Ups: Habs Edition

Pacioretty- Galchenyuk- Radulov (It'll ultimately become this, but I foresee Gallagher starting there)
    Carr- Plekanec-Gallagher
    Danault- Desharnais- Shaw
    Hudon- Mitchell- Byron
    Andrighetto
