OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

He'll be on Prime Time Sports next week in their round table I believe. He'll probably explain his reasoning there.

It doesn't have to be a Trout injury. He could be predicting a great playoffs bound season for the Jays and a fall flat on your face season for the angels. Some voters care about winning over stats when it comes to that vote.

drabek for wilkins is a good swap.

wilkins has actually performed well in the minors. Nothing awesome and way old for his levels but might be useful at some point.

1B A.Wilkins (26, 6'2"/225lbs)

AAA (24-25): 763pa, 6.3bb%, 18.7k%, .232iso, .308babip, .285/.330/.517/.847, 130wrc+
AA (23-24): 787pa, 12.8bb%, 19.3k%, .187iso, .292iso, .257/.353/.444/.797, 127wrc+
A+ (22-22): 556pa, 10.1bb%, 16.4k%, .207iso, .298babip, .278/.349/.485/.834, 136wrc+

not a bad K rate for a guy with legit power, even if he did K in half his PAs in his cup of coffee in mlb last year. though the BB% falling so low in AAA might be a clear warning side.

of course, what might be more important are his platoon splits:

MILB Totals

vLHP: 634pa, 6.9bb%, 19.9k%, .198iso, .276babip, .253/.303/.451/.754
vRHP: 1469pa, 11.0bb%, 17.6k%, .212iso, .309babip, .281/.361/.493/.854

that's an encouraging split vRHP. could be a francisco type but with less power and fewer Ks.

Pompey, Travis & Tolleson have officially made the team.

Justin Smoak makes team.

Josh Thole to AAA.

@ShiDavidi
Cuts today include Dayan Viciedo, Jeff Francis, Caleb Gindl, Jonathan Diaz

Hutchinson starting opening game.

AA says bullpen not set and is not ruling out late FA signings(Soriano?)

I'm actually thinking he could be talking to Scott Downs, who got his release from Cleveland.

I'm betting they are looking for a LHRP that is better than Colt Hynes.

Something about Soriano is concerning 30 MLB teams.

the issue with 35yr old soriano is that most numbers say he's just not very good. average to maybe a tick above. his era has looked good the past couple of years, but that's likely due to unsustainable hr and strand rates. and he's 35, doesn't throw hard, has mediocre command, and is probably looking for a multi year deal.

I wouldn't touch him myself. it screams Cordero.

I'd pass on Dusty. Was nice to keep him around the organization for so long, and full marks for him fighting to hang on to some sort of a career for as long as he did, but it's time to move on.
