You forgot about Alberquerque Dermody and Petricka

Till his dying day, Marcus Stroman will never forget the horrors he witnessed in that conference room ... When his baseball team said mean things about why he was worth $400000 less in arbitration.

Some things heard, can never be unheard.

#NeverForget

I kind of agree with him.

If they were arguing over millions, then maybe it's more acceptable. But over that pittance, it would be pretty hurtful to hear your team point out all your negatives rather than just pay you.

You guys know a lot more about baseball than I do, but isn't Stroman pretty darn good? Gives everything to the org and stuff? Six million in MLB? That is peanuts. Heck, Nylander is going to get that after a lot less exposed right? Hey, I know nothing about this crazy game, I just know I like to watch it. Chills me out.

I dunno, I watched almost every game last season, I think that kid pours his arm and heart out every game. what could they possibly say against him? Shit, sign up for the Leafs.

Some people just dont understand the baseball arbitration process. If the matter was as simple as the Jays givng Stroman 400K it would likely be done.

However, Marcus is under team control until 2020, and unless he signs an extension he will go to arbitration each year until he is a free agent ( like Donaldson), and the number the team and player file at are based on the previous years number. So that difference of 400K this year could be millions down the line.

It should be said that Stroman is the only guy i've heard of to attend his meeting and then tweet his frusteration about it. Grow up.

Spinning 30 million for Morales, Pearce and Garcia (combined 2 WAR) as good management is fuKing LOL material.

The Jays won't compete this season.

Jesus man. Typically teams don't take these to arbitration. They never took Donaldson to arbitration.

They raked him over the coals over 400k.

It makes no sense to go to arbitration in baseball because of the format if you understood it. The arbitrator picks one parties number, as opposed to other sports where they can award anything in between. So it keeps teams and players honest and their numbers close. So the difference never ends up being enough to be worth shitting all over one of your best players in front of them for.

And let's be honest. It's not like it's a secret that players get trashed in arb and hate the experience. And that's not because Stroman is the first player to ever complain about arbitration.

Did you see what Marcus Stroman posted on social media the other day? No, not the tweet about his arbitration hearing with the Toronto Blue Jays. The Instagram post where he outlined plans to mess with hitters’ timing more than ever in 2018.

“Zero fear,” Stroman wrote. “Shimmies, delivery hesitations and different arm slots.”

Shimmies and hesitations we’ve seen before. But different arm slots? That will be new even for Stroman. He has started throwing sidearm in early spring workouts, and expects the new delivery will help him keep hitters off-balance.

“Obviously I’m not going pure submariner,” said Stroman Wednesday morning, a few hours before a panel of arbitrators ruled in the team’s favour. “I would never do that. I’m a sinkerballer, I’m going to stick to my strengths.”

There will be times, though, that Stroman drops down. He already feels that he can throw a sidearm strike at any time. The early returns are encouraging for the 26-year-old. “It’s nasty,” he said.

Stroman is awesome and he's a really smart guy and isn't afraid to talk. Some people (mostly traditionalists that are white) don't like that.

He will be fine.

He is going to have a big year this year. This will help motivate him even more.

I also expect Sanchez to have a big year, he wants to get paid too.
