OT: Movies/TV Shows

I saw this when he died. I love it. If you love Gene, you’ll love this.

gene wilder was a genius.

Agree 100%.

Going back to the "Western" theme.....what about the original "Westworld" (yeah some of the effects do look pretty cheesy today - but I believe it was a rather lower budget film back then):

I think they even got Yul Brynner to wear a similiar outfit he was wearing in "The Magnificent Seven"...

Yeah, I caught episode #1 last night.

I was curious as to whether they'd keep the "mystery that's unravelled one layer at a time", mind-**** format of story-telling that they used in the first season, or if they'd just launch into a straight-up depiction of a "Hosts vs. Humans" war. But it looks like it's the former. And it worked pretty well in the fist episode. Looking forward to episode 2.

I watched 3/4 of it and its still pretty riveting. this season there is no easing into the violence like before. Right between the eyes.

Once Upon a Time in the West (one of the great Sergio Leone "spaghetti westerns") which cast classic "good guy" Henry Fonda as a baddie (I can't think of another role where he was evil - and no Habsy, I don't think being a liberal counts ):

Well if you cheered for Japan in WWII, he was evil as Chester Nimitz, especially when he said, I want that fourth carrier..

True, I guess it is a matter of ones POV....

Using also your post as a kind of segue in the another "Western": East meets West in......."Red Sun". Cool to see Toshiro Mifune with Charles Bronson in a flick:
