OT: The News Thread

Say what you will folks(and whatever it was bkerr said), but I will enjoy the collapse of the EU.

Netherlands next, then France with either flat out Euro hater Le Pen, or Fillion, the guy who said "Today Europe at best is inefficient, useless, out fashioned and at worst is an obstacle to our development and our freedom"

Italy possibly next after that.

Gains for the AFD making gains in December in Germany.

I don't think the EU makes it another 10 years unless it seriously reforms itself, and I doubt it does that.

Sorry, you're right.

There should be laws regulating the straightness of Bananas, Power of Vacuum Cleaners, and how bottled water doesn't solve dehydration, or the limits on cinnamon in pastries.

Right up there with child labour laws.

You must be a daily mail aficionado...

Notice I didn't say banning. The regulations are the same, yet, for some reason, they felt the need to make a completely redundant one. This happens time and time again. Most European countries are smart enough to regulate their own bananas without input from Brussels.

Everything I said was correct, there are regulations on straightness of Bananas, Power of Vacuum Cleaners, and how bottled water doesn't solve dehydration, or the limits on cinnamon in pastries. Why? Bright idea fairies in Brussels.

While I'm not one for promoting the mass hysteria that the daily mail does, really, why does the EU have to go through this? Why does it need to worry about bottled water preventing dehydration in the first place?

Why is it limiting the power of vacuums?

Leave these things at the National level, or let some UN weenie come up with some useless study on water and dehydration.

France is fun to watch.

Francois Fillion's wife is under fire for apparently being paid 500 000 euros and not doing any work, so the Socialists have a chance to pick off some center right voters if they pick Valls as their leader.

Nope, they pick Beniot Hamon, the French Bernie Sanders, who's main policy plank is basic income for everyone and he will pay for it with a tax on robots.

Now the Socialist vote is splitting to Emmanuel Macron En Marche Party, the guy who just decided to start up last year.

So the only one coming up Roses is Marine Le Pen. Stars are aligning.

France is even more fun to watch.

I honestly didn't see a path for victory for Le Pen, I figured she would do well enough to get into the runoff, but not enough to win head to head vs Fillion.

Fillion is looking like he's going down in flames right now.

On top of that, soldiers need to shoot a knife wielding man shouting Allahu akbar outside the Louvre. I wonder which party that's going to help.

She might pull it off.

It's 'fun' to watch the rise of right wing white nationalist movements?

They are useful idiots to me. My hope is for the EU to fall apart, and if there was as mainstream political party advocating that I would hope they win, but so far it's only the front nationale, so FN it is.

....so you're saying you support the rise of right wing white nationalist movements because of your dislike for the EU?

Do you have any idea what might happen to Europe (and the world) if Le Pen wins, Merkel loses, and Britain Brexits?

I'm sure it's not nearly as apocalyptic as you think it's going to be.

Do you actually want to know what I think will happen or do you want to tell me your version, which I'm assuming comes equipped with war, famine, genocide and crappy baguettes?
