he's been eclipsed by Jeb, Christie, Perry, Paul and Romney since his star began to crash. I even think Walker from Wisc polls higher than Ryan.
here's a fairly recent poll. My mistake on Perry, I overrated him...and to be sure Jeb must be polling higher now too.

Sorry Lou, but Obama showing up to march amongst 200,000+ people was not gonna happen.
Who cares if European leaders were there....they are not targets like the POTUS.
White House's mistake was not sending Kerry....stupid mistake and they confessed to it. But Obama was not gonna expose himself like that for a clear shot....secret service nightmare....White House was obviously not gonna say publicly that they Obama didn't go because his life is worth more than the German Chancelor's life to terrorist....
Donald Trump says he will "test" the waters at some upcoming Tea Party events and some GOP ones as well.
I'm not sure why he needs to test anything when he has many times stated that if he ran he would likely win the nomination... it has just been a case of whether he had the "desire" to be President for that long.
I guess Rubio isn't running? I know he was a favorite here by some during the last campaign but if Perry is a walking punchline then Rubio is that Latin flavor of the month who has now been replaced by the other latin guy in the party, Cruz. I remember after Obama's shocking re-election that the GOP was going to examine itself and find out why they were so out of touch with Americans and it wasn't long before Reince Priebus stated that the party had to connect with Latino's and minorities. So there was Rubio's big moment as he was tasked with writing up an Immigration Bill only to see that his party started to forget what the Chairman of the party said and they wanted nothing to do with his bill so he withdrew it before his party had a chance to vote it down.
Recently he seems to be on the other end of Obama's Cuba decision stating he will do everything in his power to block a reconnection with the Cubans. Of course most Americans like Obama's direction on Cuba.
Rubio's best bet is to probably switch parties and become a Democrat.
I suppose Rick Santorum will give it another go again because someone higher than all of us has asked him to.
Michelle Bachmann is probably waiting to see if Sarah Palin announces a run before she decides if she jump at the female candidate spot.
Should be fun.
A lot of irritating stuff the last few days:
1. Obama Administration truly effed up with the march in Paris. What were they thinking?
2. Is this the same GOP that stoked France-hatred in 2003 even though the "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" were unambiguously correct in their assessment of Iraq? Yeah, hypocritical douchebags.
The Americans did look very good in all this.
3. How was Sergei Lavrov allowed to participate in this march? Putin's foreign minister... a government that suppresses the free press, runs a country where journalists are routinely murdered and intimidated, and has conducted a near-perfect Orwellian media campaign of disinformation re: the violence Ukraine? What a farce. Scumbag should have been sent packing.
4. Dar El Ifta and the Vatican can also go f*ck themselves. Oh, we condemn the violence. But this is what you get you mock religion.... blah blah blah. Bullshit. There is no justification for this butchery at all. These weasel-word qualifiers and lecturing are sickening.
I just finished Justin Trudeau's book Common Ground. My sister gave it to me as a xmas gift. Pretty good read. He should make a good PM.
Zero chance he becomes PM next fall....
