OT: Politics & News... Have at it.

he's been eclipsed by Jeb, Christie, Perry, Paul and Romney since his star began to crash. I even think Walker from Wisc polls higher than Ryan.

I don't get how Perry survived his last showing. So many of his mistakes were highlight reel.

Sorry Lou, but Obama showing up to march amongst 200,000+ people was not gonna happen.

Who cares if European leaders were there....they are not targets like the POTUS.

White House's mistake was not sending Kerry....stupid mistake and they confessed to it. But Obama was not gonna expose himself like that for a clear shot....secret service nightmare....White House was obviously not gonna say publicly that they Obama didn't go because his life is worth more than the German Chancelor's life to terrorist....

Donald Trump says he will "test" the waters at some upcoming Tea Party events and some GOP ones as well.

I'm not sure why he needs to test anything when he has many times stated that if he ran he would likely win the nomination... it has just been a case of whether he had the "desire" to be President for that long.

I guess Rubio isn't running? I know he was a favorite here by some during the last campaign but if Perry is a walking punchline then Rubio is that Latin flavor of the month who has now been replaced by the other latin guy in the party, Cruz. I remember after Obama's shocking re-election that the GOP was going to examine itself and find out why they were so out of touch with Americans and it wasn't long before Reince Priebus stated that the party had to connect with Latino's and minorities. So there was Rubio's big moment as he was tasked with writing up an Immigration Bill only to see that his party started to forget what the Chairman of the party said and they wanted nothing to do with his bill so he withdrew it before his party had a chance to vote it down.

Recently he seems to be on the other end of Obama's Cuba decision stating he will do everything in his power to block a reconnection with the Cubans. Of course most Americans like Obama's direction on Cuba.

Rubio's best bet is to probably switch parties and become a Democrat.

I suppose Rick Santorum will give it another go again because someone higher than all of us has asked him to.

Michelle Bachmann is probably waiting to see if Sarah Palin announces a run before she decides if she jump at the female candidate spot.

Should be fun.

yeah right, they confessed to at least not sending Kerry when it was Capt Obvious time after this shitstorm of criticism.

Obama could have been there, this guy is no wallflower he's one of the most publicly visible Presidents ever. He's been very well taken care of despite the over exposure. He could have been there himself, arm in arm with other regional leaders in a show of unity that clearly went off without a hitch. And Obama or not, the terrorists getting to the core of the unity march, would have been one huge coup. No doubt in my mind, they either didn't have the capability, or they simply could not penetrate security to do any harm.

the security excuse offered by the WH today is a lame one.

Being Cuban, there is no way he can do that and save face. He'd be ostracized by his own people after what Obama has done regarding Cuba.

The GOP will end up running JEB Bush. As scary as the thought may be to some people, he can actaually win because he can unite the party, batshit crazies and conservatives alike.

Isn't his wife Latino ? That should help, no ?

Or as Frank Underwood would say...... she's latino, check !!!

Weird

CNN Breaking News ‏
Report: John Boehner’s former bartender made plans to poison House speaker’s drink.

A lot of irritating stuff the last few days:

1. Obama Administration truly effed up with the march in Paris. What were they thinking?
2. Is this the same GOP that stoked France-hatred in 2003 even though the "cheese-eating surrender monkeys" were unambiguously correct in their assessment of Iraq? Yeah, hypocritical douchebags.

The Americans did look very good in all this.

3. How was Sergei Lavrov allowed to participate in this march? Putin's foreign minister... a government that suppresses the free press, runs a country where journalists are routinely murdered and intimidated, and has conducted a near-perfect Orwellian media campaign of disinformation re: the violence Ukraine? What a farce. Scumbag should have been sent packing.
4. Dar El Ifta and the Vatican can also go f*ck themselves. Oh, we condemn the violence. But this is what you get you mock religion.... blah blah blah. Bullshit. There is no justification for this butchery at all. These weasel-word qualifiers and lecturing are sickening.

That suggestion has really pissed me off as well. I mentioned this earlier in the thread that some Muslim leader out east condemned the attack but praised those publications who refused to re-show the cartoon. So in essence give the terrorists what they want.

Burn the American flag or the Bible and shame on you... some idiot pastor in Florida burns a Quran and people are killed around the world.

10-year old girls have bombs strapped to their bodies and then are sent into tents full of people in Nigeria where the bombs are set-off.

School kids massacred in classrooms in Pakistan.

Now you have people who were rescued from poverty in many parts of the world and are given another chance in western countries via immigration and yet some of these folk grow up hating their new life and want to destroy it in the name of prophet... and if they mess up and get caught they will use the full extent of the human rights laws we have to defend themselves in court proceeedings... basically mocking us right there... and even if they are sent to jail they are likely to live the rest of the lives in decent surroundings compared to how many of their kind are currently living around the world... costing tax-payers of the country they want to terrorize and destroy quite a bit if they live a long life.

Experts now say that the freedom march has probably done nothing but riled up the terrorists even more. I won't be surprised if at the end of the year CNN does a top 10 list of "The 10 deadliest terrorist attacks in the western world this year... brought to you by the Kalashnikov AK-47 assault rifle".

I just finished Justin Trudeau's book Common Ground. My sister gave it to me as a xmas gift. Pretty good read. He should make a good PM.

While I understand Coq and Lotus' argument, does freedom of press etc not come with responsibilities as well? I might defend say a Nazi from publishing a paper portraying jews in a bad light but that person might also end up facing hate crime trial.

The cartoonists had every right in the world to publish pics of mohammed, hell portray one of him getting a blow job while taking a crap in the desert, I don't care, but if you do so, then it is possible that you will pay the ultimate price.

Zero chance he becomes PM next fall....

Unfortunately he could win quite easily, as scary as it sounds, I think he will be the next PM. He'll last 1 term, but by then taxes and unemployment will go up, and we'll be subjected to more socialist liberal garbage. But Count would be one of the very few 'upper class' people I know who support him, not many rich people want to see corporate/personal taxes raised, that's why I'm surprised Count is a Turdeau fan.

Btw, I remember seeing him at tristar gym back in the day, all people could say at the gym was he was one of the most arrogant and cocky people out there. He doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself.
