Global OT Thread

Well, seeing as the Global FA thread has pretty much run it's course a global OT thread seems to be an appropriate thread that should be able to stay open permanently.

So, what's everyone's thoughts on global threads?

I like them. Especially for the OT stuff. It's nice that you won't have to go running around looking for it, but will have it in one place where posters from all the forums can get together and discuss a current topic.

I am game for the global threads as long as it sticks to 2-3 Max threads, therefore no clutter on the pages that are needed on a very regular basis.

Yeah, I'd say that it probably won't be more than three at any one time.

Yeah... very rarely there might be 2 or 3... but I'd say 99% of the time there will be just 1 or 2.

It was interesting to hear that jurors were saying that they never said that she was innocent, just that the state hadn't proved it's case in chief. Casey Anthony should start dating OJ. They have so much in common!

I was actually thinking that we could merge a few threads into this one. We don't want too many global threads. Perhaps this one (maybe call it the "global pop culture thread") plus a global "favorite videos/pictures thread"

I was particularly unimpressed with the prosecution here. Pushing murder one on a case where they couldn't prove how/where/when the baby died let alone place the mother at the scene, was just a very dumb idea in my opinion. You have to prove premeditated murder, and the only evidence I saw of murder was a google search or whatever and that is very weak in terms of trying to build a premeditated murder case out of it. While she seems like a terrible person and I saw significant evidence for her trying to cover up the death of the baby, I saw nothing to say the baby didn't drown in a pool and then she had a hysterical reaction or something similar.

the prosecution was very dumb going after murder one. There was sufficient doubt. If they expect a person to sentence another person to death they have to be darn sure to have it air tight.

I expected a not guilty on that count but was shocked at the verdict on aggravated child abuse. Your daughter is missing and you don't tell anyone?

I heard earlier that she has received a substantial offer to do a porno. This country is so messed up.

Having tried more than a few (civil) cases before juries over the last twenty years, it never ceases to amaze me what things they latch onto in coming to their decisions. Unfortunately, most people who get stuck sitting on a jury (for like $10 a day) are morons.
