If anything this should shake up the status quo and hopefully get a solution done.

I would be making veiled threats that it only gets worse from here if they can't figure their shit out.

the US could solve this in 10 minutes if:

    a) they cut off aid to Israel if they do not move settlements out of the West Bank, give West Bank to Palestine;

    b) transfer the aid Israel does not need to Palestinians and state it will be cut off IF there are any further terrorist activities in Israel

    Ya right.

America gives Israel 3.6 billion a year in defense aid.

Israel spends 15 billion US on defense. So 24 percent of their defense spending is covered by the US.

The Israeli budget is 261 billion USD. So the US covers 1.3 percent of Israel budget. I think you underestimate the people of Israel and their ability to suffer while over estimating just how much money america sends to Israel.

Israel has their capital in Jerusalem. Its been there for decades. Its not going to leave. Jews have viewed Jerusalem as their holy city for what, 3000 years now?

To not recognize it now is foolish. I would hope that just because some first nations claim that ottawa is first nation territory that the international community dont move their embassies to Toronto.

Coal industry moaning about senate tax bill because it caps interest payment deductions.

Keep on mind it’s a very capital-intensive industry and depends on a huge amount of debt financing.

    because Alabama

    http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/201...art_river_home

A United Nations official arrives in Alabama this week to investigate poverty, inequality and "barriers to political participation" in the state.

Philip Alston, UN Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights, will visit Alabama on Thursday and Friday as part of a 15-day tour of the U.S. that also includes stops in California, West Virginia, Puerto Rico, Atlanta and Washington, D.C.

"Some might ask why a UN Special Rapporteur on extreme poverty and human rights would visit a country as rich as the United States. But despite great wealth in the US, there also exists great poverty and inequality," Alston said in a statement.

Alston will spend Thursday in Lowndes County, where he will be looking at issues like health care, access to clean and safe drinking water, and sanitation.

The Guardian reported in September on a study exposing the fact that a small number of people have tested positive for hookworm - a parasitic disease found in impoverished areas around the world - in Lowndes County.

During his Alabama visit, he will also look at voting rights, political participation and "government efforts to eradicate poverty in the country, and how they relate to US obligations under international human rights law."

On Friday, Alston will go to Montgomery, for a meeting with local civil service and civil rights advocacy groups.

"I would like to focus on how poverty affects the civil and political rights of people living within the US, given the United States' consistent emphasis on the importance it attaches to these rights in its foreign policy, and given that it has ratified the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights," Alston said.

Hardly the same thing re Ottawa and Toronto. Hell if anything, jewish residents are more like us and the Palestinians like the Natives. For about 2000 years, there were few jews in the Holy Land.

Holy City and capital are two different things.

This is a purely political move to brown nose evangelicals and to try and fortify Dump's political base. While other Presidents might have wanted to move, they didn't so as not to upset the peace process.

We all know that in negotiations, the US was never dealing fairly, their nose was always squarely ensconced in Israel's ass but at least keeping the embassy in Tel Aviv would maintain at the very least some modicum of neutrality.

I know. The Jews would be us, the Palestinians first nations.

Now there are actually first nations groups claiming ottawa is first nation land according to some treaty or another. How pissed would Canadians be of all embassies moved to Toronto due to a dispute with a group of first nations?

The reality is that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel whether the international community recognizes ot or not, same as canadas capital would continue to be ottawa whether every embassy moved to Toronto or not.

As for the peace process, that's been going on since the leafs were cup winners. And it's not like its ongoing, the two sides haven't talked in quite a while.

Junior declined to answer questions about a conversation he had with Bigly Trump because a lawyer was present in the room during the conversation and thus, attorney client privilege.

    http://thehill.com/homenews/house/36...se-intel-panel

Donald Trump Jr. on Wednesday declined to tell the House Intelligence Committee details about his conversation with President Trump regarding his meeting with a Russian lawyer, citing client privilege, according to the committee's top Democrat.

Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) is challenging Trump Jr.'s reasoning, saying Trump Jr. cannot apply attorney-client privilege and "shield" lawmakers from his conversation between father and son just because an attorney was present in the room at the time.

"He acknowledged having discussed the June 9 meeting and the emails that went into establishing that meeting after those emails became public," Schiff said Wednesday following a closed-door meeting with Trump Jr.

"He acknowledged discussing that matter with his father, but refused to answer questions about that discussion along the basis of a attorney-client privilege. In my view there is no attorney-client privilege that protects a discussion between father and son," Schiff continued.

So surely there will be an angry tweet storm about this....

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/russia-ai...jtc_news_index

The price of fuel in North Korea has plummeted over the past month thanks to Russian oil imports, according to reports that suggest Russia is ignoring international efforts to isolate the rogue North Korean regime.

Journalists with the website Asia Press International, which is based in Osaka, Japan, and publishes in English, Japanese and Korean, reportedly said that fuel prices began to fall in November. The reports claimed that the price of diesel had fallen by 60 percent since early November, and the price of gasoline fell by around 25 percent.
