OT: American Politics

So uhhh...the orchestrated liberal hit job on Milo?

Yeah, not so much. A 16 yr old Canadian girl got the ball rolling on this:

yeah, not covering the white house propaganda sessions as if they are actual press conferences won't have any negative effect on the media's audience sizes, sorry to say.

but the entire media treating them like the propaganda sessions they are may, just maybe, undermine their legitimacy to enough people.

no guarantees of course - dictators have proven over and over that destroying the media is far from impossible. even easier when you have a majority of elected representatives biting their tongues and allowing it to happen.

Much of the current press has zero credibility. When Trump calls CNN fake news, he isn't wrong.

I'm not sure what TV you are watching, but the media is already treating the white house press conferences like propaganda sessions.

The media are supposed to be watchdogs. Not lapdogs.

They aren't doing their jobs.

The irony of a serial liar calling any news outlet "fake news" while peddling his own blatant lies, shouldn't be lost on anyone.

That's before he took office...since he took office, WAPO has counted 140 false or misleading statements or claims.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/politics/trump-claims/

Polifact has the donald at "pants on fire", "false", or "mostly false" a stunning 70% of the time. Compare that with:

Obama - 26%
Pelosi - 49%
Hillary - 26%
McCain - 42%
Biden - 32%
McConnell - 43%
Reid - 51%
Cruz - 66%
Sanders - 27%
Rubio - 41%
Pence - 45%
Jeb Bush - 31%
Cheney - 55%

The very, very loony Ted Cruz is the only one close.

Heh.

They all lie, but they do not all lie equally. Trump lies at a rate unparalleled in American political history. This isn't an opinion, it's demonstrable.
Are they lies if the liar truly believes what he's saying? Delusion is a scary thing.
