He would have had the out of saying that this was the courts decision and that he did everything possible to avoid it.

He's trying to say that now but it rings hollow.

Lord knows he's going to fight wounded vets till hell freezes over as well. No saving money there, just fighting them on principle I guess.

I'd hate to believe that my facebook feed is a sufficient cross section of Canadian society, but based on it, and I've had to disagree. Maybe I have too much Alberta influence on there though.

But the law can be ****ed up. Like the Jordan case that has hundreds of cases of sexual assault, rape, murder, drug trafficking being thrown out due to the process taking too long?

There are some families who will never see justice for murders, rape victims who watch their rapist go free, and what, they aren't support to be angry because " rule of law"?

    That's weak.
Sure the law can be ****ed up, because there's no other functional alternative and the law isn't perfect. Remember that the foundation of modern law is for the protection of citizens against their government. Want to see injustice? Give sitting governments the ability to do whatever they deem to be expedient with no recourse.

I didn't like the CPC for much while they were in power but damn, I'm really starting to love this whole consecutive parole ineligibility periods.

Douglas garland, life in prison with no chance of parole for 75 years.

Justin bourque, 75 years with no chance of parole

Derek saretsky, 75 years as well.

Satisfying that these scum won't ever get out of jail. Especially after meeting homolka in public.

I bet all the vitriol about the Khadr payout would be gone the minute you find yourself charged with a crime in a foreign land, especially if said charge was bogus, and your own home country turned it's back on you and your rights. The US government pulled a Joe Arpaio on Khadr while Ottawa just sat and watched

Jesus man the discussion ended a month and a half ago. Did you really need to bump in order to bring us the shocking news that you have gone completely out of character and agree with something the Liberals did?

    Yeah no it wouldn't.

Look at the guy in Thailand who ran Alpha Bay. Arrested and held for US authorities to come pick him up and put him in jail forever. Instead he either hung himself or was strangled before he could rat anyone out.

Canada did what to help him? Canada should have done what to help him?

If you go around the world committing crimes, and are stupid enough to take up arms against the US Armed Forces, then you're a dimwit that deserves all the hurt coming your way.

    Trudeau is a complete retard.

Well, that pretty much murders the slippery slope discussion regarding shitty racist *******s losing their statues leading to the fringes pushing to get rid of people who legitimately accomplished things in a time of different moral values.

    WTF was that!

So I guess Trudeau is our guy until 2024 then eh? I can't wait to tell my Albertan friends.

The CPC really does seem to have a "type" when it comes to its leaders so far.

    Christ. Who ok'd that shirt.

Should be interesting to see if the hipster socialist vote shifts back to the NDP and we get a minority government in the next election. That Jag is pretty handsome.

Meh. Trudeau had his awkward commercial at one point.

    Still, awkward.

Canada is really a embarrassment internationally.

Host a peacekeeping summit, can't commit to a mission and make a noncommital pledge of 1/3 of what was promised.

He is probably referring to the general consensus and comments similar to this.
