The Moosehead have acquired a 2015 second-round pick from Baie-Comeau in exchange for Luca Ciampini.

The deal won't become official until the trade period opens on Friday.

The trade period opened this morning and the Mooseheads officially announced the Ciampini deal.

Four overagers remain on the roster — forwards Philippe Gadoury & Andrew Ryan and defencemen Austyn Hardie & Jesse Lussier.

The QMJHL draft begins this morning at 10am/et.

The Mooseheads currently have 13 picks — 21st, 56th, 74th, 92nd, 110th, 128th, 134th, 146th, 164th, 182th, 200th, 236th and 254th.

Cam Russell is on record saying he'd like to acquire a couple more picks.

Not expecting any player movement, but it's possible Russell could rectify the overager situation today with a trade.

Assistant coach Steve Hartley is leaving the team to be the head coach of QMAAA's Chateauguay Grenadiers next season.

The Mooseheads have acquired a sixth-round pick in 2015 from the Sagueneens for D Brian Lovell.

The 19-year-old was drafted in the third round in 2011 and played 81 games in two seasons with the Mooseheads, scoring 11 points and adding 89 penalty minutes.

Lovell asked to be moved closer to home for personal reasons.

The Mooseheads have claimed Kelly Bent on waivers from the Sea Dogs.

The 6'0", 192-pound, 19-year-old native of Halifax will be looked upon to provide energy and toughness.
