This is going to open a can of worms.
 
Apparently there isn't an automatic 10-game suspension in the big leagues.

MLB can suspend for as many or as few games as they see fit.

The Yankees have recalled RHP Shane Greene and purchased the contract of RHP Bruce Billings, adding him to the 25-man roster.

In corresponding moves, INF Dean Anna and RHP Preston Claiborne have been optioned to Triple-A.

The team also transferred RHP Ivan Nova from the 15-day DL to the 60-day DL.

The team has to go with 24 players with Pineda suspended, so guess they've decided to go with an extra pitcher over a fourth bench player.
 
Ivan Nova has opted for Tommy John surgery. Dr. James Andrews will perform the procedure on Tuesday in Birmingham.

The recovery time is approximately 12 to 18 months.
