Nova comes out to begin the eighth and gets Bogaerts. Pretty solid night considering.

One injury update:

Mark Feinsand: Roberts had an MRI for lower back soreness. The MRI was negative and he'll be reevaluated in the next few days.

With injuries beginning to mount, it's likely either Russ Canzler (.276/.303/.448) or Scott Sizemore (.344/.436/.500) will be called up from Triple-A.

They're also in need of a catcher with Cervelli heading to the DL — I'd prefer John Ryan Murphy but it will probably be Austin Romine.
 
Francisco Cervelli's MRI revealed a Grade 2 strain of his right hamstring. He'll be placed on DL tomorrow retroactively to today.

The recovery period is 4-6 weeks.
 
Carlos Beltran has been named AL Player of the Week, batting .423 with four doubles, three homers, seven RBI and seven runs scored.
 
Tonight's Yankees-Cubs game has been postponed by rain. It will be part of a day-night doubleheader tomorrow.

The Yankees have recalled C John Ryan Murphy and have purchased the contract of INF Scott Sizemore.

In corresponding moves, C Francisco Cervelli was placed on the 60-day DL and RHP Shane Greene was optioned to Triple-A.

Murphy is hitting just .192/.192/.308 (31 wRC+) in 26 plate appearances but Scott Sizemore is raking — .344/.436/.500 (164 wRC+) in 39 plate appearances.

The Yankees face a few lefties coming up so both should see action this week.
