If Max can be a 40-goal guy, then the lineup isn't bad. Not a ton of top-line depth, but potentially 3 "2nd lines". If Galchenyuk can take the step forward, then we could certainly be a power

Definitely feels weaker on D than last year, but that being said, nice to not see Bou or Murray patrolling the back end. We need Emelin to step up and be a #3.

Price is Price, so we're fine.

Overall, it definitely is not a team that looks great on paper, but we have strong depth (at this point, I'd take our 4th line ahead of most teams' 3rd lines). The big keys if we want to do well:
1. Can Markov still hold up and be a top pair D?
2. Is Max truly a 40-goal guy again?
3. Can Emelin step up and be a #3D for us
4. Is this the year Galchenyuk breaks out for us?
5. Can Sekac come in and be a top-6 player ? OR can we get a surprise showing by someone like PAP, Bourque, Eller, etc... as our secondary scoring

Bournival is definitely reaching internet legend status around here.

I put Galchenyuk on the 3rd line because I want him playing with offensive players. Eller and Bourque were two of our better offensive players in the playoffs.

The way we are structured as a team right now isn't beneficial for Galchenyuk. I don't want him playing with Pleks cause that will reduce his production as Pleks is defensive minded. DD and Pacioretty love eachother so unless he plays the wing it won't work.

Galchenyuk is our most gifted forward, but we don't really know where to put him.

Hopefully Galchenyuk can move to center sometime over the next year or two, his talent would be better served in that position instead of wing.

Trade DD and move Galchenyuk into the #1 center spot between Pacs and Gallagher, then slide Sekac onto the second line beside Pleks.

I love the people who are upset. MB did a great job today.

This team made the playoffs WITHOUT Vanek. He was a late addition.
Our D is better to start this season than it was last season
PA is an improvement on Briere
We are bigger
Chucky and Gallagher another year closer
We have a legit faceoff man
Weise > Moen

Right now I do:

Max-DD-PA
Gallagher-Eller-Chucky
Bourque-Pleks-Sekac/Bournival
Prust-Malholtra-Weise

X-Moen

Markov-Subban
Emelin-Gilbert
NB-Weaver

And we still have $ for the deadline if it stays this way.

I just compaired Vaneks numbers to Pa Parenteau. The guy puts up very similar numbers and actually last year was on pace for 30 plus goal season. I think pretty good for 4 mil a year.

Gally isn't 5'9. He's 5'7 closer to 5'6. And you didn't lest Daharnias. He's 5'7 as well.
