Drew Doughty named #1 defenseman by hockey writers

It baffles me that he hasn't gotten Norris consideration beyond the one nomination. I know that they don't take the playoffs into consideration for Norris, but still, if you are building a team out from the goal, you can't do better than Doughty as your #1 D-man. He consistently logs the most minutes on the Kings, and has eliminated many of the costly mistakes that plagued him earlier in his career.

Hopefully this means he will begin to get better consideration when it comes time to pick the Norris candidates at the end of the season. It kills me that the Kings get so little consideration for the post season awards.
