Further to our previous discussion here's an old interview with Esposito about the 72 Summit Series. The only people who are unhappy about the level of violence used are people who aren't old enough to remember what it was like. It wasn't about sportsmanship. As Esposito says in the article "It was f***ing war".

This is the difference between pro sports played for money versus amateur sports played for fun. What the Habs are being paid to do tonight is win. Anything they might do in the furtherance of that goal is acceptable, up to and including deliberate attempts to injure their opponents. In fact, they aren't being paid to "attempt" to injure; they're being paid to succeed in injuring if it is required to come out of this game with a win.
Whatever it takes.
Anyone who can't take it can watch soccer where players get paid only to pretend they're injured.

Who can bring in the lineup with scoring ability? No one so line shuffling is all he can do and then you guys complain that he keep changing the lines.
