Summer 2015 Transfer Thread

Villa is going all sideways on me. Reports are that they are almost done with a deal for ANOTHER young wing player ... this time Adama Lilajic from Roma ... which would officially give them a million wingers and no proper center forward to finish anything. Ayew, Sinclair, Agbonlahor, Traore, Grealish and now Lilajic ... all natural wingers. The only real target men on the roster are Gestede (proven only at Championship level) and Kozak (really not worth mentioning).

While I applaud the continued infusion of speed and athleticism, this is starting to make less sense by the addition. Goals have been hard to come by and attacking play in the box has been sorely lacking ... for what look to me to be obvious reasons. FIND A TARGET FORWARD.

They need another striker but if they want to win the League they need an upgrade over Giroud rather than a backup.

Austin had been rumored for just about every mid-table team. And after supposedly chasing Benzema and Cavani all summer, signing Austin seems like a letdown. The Telegraph is reporting that they're still after Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain is the backup plan in January if they don't get Benzema.

Didn't Austin have WAY more goals last season than Giroud has ever scored in a single season? I got your statement, but I don't think Giroud is all that. Austin might actually be a better option for them.

Kevin de Bruyne is set to have a medical with Manchester City before a club-record move to the Premier League side.

Am I the only one who just doesn't really get this one? Anytime I have seen de Bruyne, which I admit is mostly for Belgium, he looks pretty decent but not somebody that is going to be worth almost £60 mill.

Where does he fit? He is really a #10 from what I have seen. So either you are paying that kind of money to play a guy out of position on the RW or you are going to move your best player Silva out of his best spot, how does that make sense?

Manchester City have signed Belgium midfielder Kevin de Bruyne from German side Wolfsburg for a club record £55m.

The 24-year-old has agreed a six-year deal and is City's fourth high-profile summer arrival after Raheem Sterling, Fabian Delph and Nicolas Otamendi.

It is the second highest fee paid by a British club after Manchester United's £59.7m signing of Angel Di Maria.
