That would be insane. A solid group of YOUNG high ceiling players. We'd draft a D and a couple of forwards. You forgot you would need to somehow deal Price, as there's no point to holding onto him. But, the team would have a legit chance to acquire Free agents and compete for the cup in 2-3 years, something that hasn't happened since Molson has owned the team. It's a pipe dream at this point to think we'd ever win a cup anytime in the foreseeable future, who ever watches this team anymore when we have 0 direction and a useless GM? I rather watch teams that have a plan, competent management, and an intelligent owner.

Ironically, despite pretty much guaranteeing we would suck next year, moves like that would actually saves MB's butt as everyone would understand the rationale.

I think Vancouver would love to give us that 7th overall pick in a package for Price.

They do have an history to trade for overprice/bad contract goaltender so you might be up for something...

you realize there is a cap floor right, trading all the guys you want means we would be about 40 million under and given we never get big name UFAs, no way we could get to the floor

Do that ....lets see how far they go with this roster

All JT will do is keep us fighting for the WC and with our core aging in the 30`s thats the worse position to be in

Chevy in Winnipeg in the same time frame builds a contender with a proper draft/develop slow process .

We take decent young core , rip it to shreds and now are among the worst teams in hockey .

I dont know what some of you want with this team when we never accepted a proper rebuild when we had the chance.

With moronic trades , brutal asset management , horrendous drafting and development and never starting the proper frame work what do you expect JT to fix this mess......good luck with that .

He couldn`t move the needle an inch in NY for 9 years with a much better top 9 but a flawed roster like us.

This is by far the worst sport to try and force winning . The optics are terrible with a hard cap , scarce talent , bad contacts , and the inmates running the asylum with trade clauses .

We simply dont have the base for JT ...he is perfect for other teams not us

Jets properly built a team

Chevy made no bandaid deals , no patch work .

Fans were pissed with the slow no win approach but who is laughing now .

They are set for 5 years . Now bent nose can tweak , make trades , etc.....to refine his team

The glue is in place to compete with anyone . Thats what you need first or you are going nowhere .

Again how the fook do you take over a team and in 6 years is worse than before with few pieces you even want to keep.

Not sure about that, it’s better to be lucky than good at times.

It’s wasn’t that long ago posters here were calling him Cheval-day-off!

Only reason we don’t see band aids is because players refused to waive or sign as UFAs to play in Winter-peg. Just 1-summer ago, Jets offered more for Alzner than Habs....

They have the same issues as us with UFA`S and players refusing NTC`S, but who cares .

They knew the only way they can build a team is through the draft.

Bottom like Sal ......they built a roster the proper way and yes he was crucified by fans and media .

Now with a near completer roster and a bevy of young studs he has control of his roster .

They will not be able to keep all 3 ..... Trouba , Wheeler , and Myers but have the flexibility to make moves .

Plus with a young core roster if they arent winning down the road all have great value to retool on the fly if need be.

Thats the difference with patching to stupidity and constantly bandaiding and going nowhere like us and what they did.
