If Zetterberg retires within the next 2-yrs as he flat out said to a Swedish journalist this week, the Wings are completely screwed with cap recapture penalties which will ensue...

He'll "retire" the same way Datsyuk retired. His rights will probably be traded to Arizona or Carolina, helping them get to the cap floor, and he'll simply fail his physical by simply not training. He'll count against their cap, not get paid and "officially" retire once his contract's completely up.

That is why i am not really complaining about the shape our team is in. We are still a good team and the cap is anything but an issue

No one is really sure where Lupul is, might be in the Cayman Islands....

Also, there is no way someone as excitable as you is "even keel" about the state of the team and bizarre situation around not spending to the cap.

Yes everyone does but some here are almost in a panic. Our best players are young, we have a first class goalie and a half decent D. Would not be surprised if we win the division. The playoffs is another issue.

I don't like our defence. Schlemko, Morrow, Jerabek and Davidson is a weak left side. Alzner would be better on the 2nd pair but now he might be forced to play top minutes on the left side because of the shit behind him.

If any team can afford to get by with a less-than-stellar defense corps it's the team that has Carey Price playing goal for them.
