In late-Nov, Andrei Markov reached out to the Canadiens, informed Bergevin he was very unhappy in the KHL and wanted to return. I'm told Bergevin told him no. With Weber out 5-6 months, and no options in UFA market, could/should Markov be an option for MTL now?

A reminder. Montreal could not sign Markov in November. Once a player plays one khl game (or other euro league) game after the start of the NHL season he must clear waivers to come back to the NHL. Markov would not have cleared.

Even if Markov wanted to come back this year, he can't because he's Under contract in the KHL and there's no transfer agreement between the two leagues.

MB wouldn't give him 2 years. Then when Markov caved and said he'd take 1 year, MB said "no thanks, our team is good enough as is."

That was a big mistake. Even in his twilight, he was one of the best passers in the league and a solid performer.
