Good. NBC have by and large done a very solid job with the EPL coverage and I really like the way their streaming access works ... as opposed to Fox's nonsense. Plus, that means more Men in Blazers Mondays ... until somebody notices how crap they are, of course.

Not really news but Brian Laudrup is one of my all time favourite players and this just made me smile

"I spoke to Walter and said, 'before you read anything in the papers I've just had an offer from Barcelona and I've turned it down'. He didn't say anything for a minute and then he said, 'So you'd prefer to play Falkirk on a Tuesday night?' I said, 'Yeah, I love it' and he laughed and shook my hand. 'OK, let's get on with it,'

Hull City midfielder Jake Livermore will face no suspension after testing positive for cocaine, the Football Association has confirmed.

The 25-year-old was suspended by the FA and his club in May after failing a drug test, pending the outcome of a disciplinary hearing.

Livermore tested positive after the death of his newborn son, Jake Junior.

An FA statement said he was not given a ban because of "the specific and unique nature of the circumstances".

Seems like a sensible decision provided the player continues to get support and treatment.

FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke has been placed on leave and relieved of his duties amid a ticket scalping scandal. He was due to step down with Blatter in February.

In semi-related news, US AG Loretta Lynch said at a presser earlier this week that she expect another round of indictments in their FIFA probe sooner or later. And she refused to shoot down speculation that Blatter himself is likely to be indicted in phase 2. Everybody knows that Valke was just his bag man, and no matter how hard he tries to distance himself, Blatter is going to end up in a pot of hot water sooner or later.

And I've read that the Swiss are sharing info with the American DOJ. It's only a matter of time before Blatter is charged in the US.

And he's the target, so there likely won't be any deals, not like Warner is getting and Webb may get. Unless he can get them the IOC, there are no bigger fish to catch, hence no more hooks to bait.

Blatter stuck to his (pop)guns yesterday ... saying he's done nothing wrong and will not leave office before his planned departure in February. The guy is nothing if not consistent. Consistently corrupt and slimy, but consistent.

McDonald's, Coca Cola and AB InBev have called on Blatter to resign. They, along with Adidas and Visa are part of a sponsor group engaged in the reform process. If they take the next step and withhold sponsorship money, FIFA are sunk.

Probably doesn't come as a surprise but their has been a management change at Sunderland

Dick Advocaat has resigned as Sunderland boss, with the team yet to win in the Premier League this season.

Advocaat said: "I have made the decision to go after only eight games as I felt it was important to give everyone time to turn things around."

Sunderland chairman Ellis Short said: "I am truly saddened by Dick's decision, but I respect him for his honesty.

"It is also testament to his character that he has foregone any kind of a financial settlement, something which is very unusual in football."

Stand up bloke, its a shame he didn't walk away in the summer and end his career on the high it deserved.

Sam Allardyce, Nigel Pearson and Sean Dyche are all rumoured to be in the mix.

Martin O'Neill was in charge at the start of the 2012-13 season. He was sacked in March 2013 and they've gone through 3 "permanent" and 1 caretaker manager since. Gus Poyet had the longest run with 69 matches.
