Habs' will be a wasteland up front but whatever.

Yea I see the Habs dropping too.... Their forwards are bleak, and large reason they were so good was because of Price. I expect Prices #'s to drop a fair bit and maybe a slight boost in offence... overall I see them barely getting home ice this time around.

Habs will fight with Tampa for the division...but they'll have to win all their games 2-1 or 1-0, unless Semin rediscovers himself or Galchenyuk makes a huge step forward.

Are the people picking the Leafs to make the playoffs/be a bubble team just doing it to be different from everyone else? Can't think of why anybody would anticipate that outcome.

Just looking at the standings, realistically what teams can the Leafs compete with outside of Arizona, Carolina, New Jersey and Philly?

Talent wise there is a big gap between those 5 and everyone else.

Honestly i think they even could be a tier lower than Carolina and Philly....the problem with those 2 teams is they play in the Metropolitan.

I think Vancouver could be epic bad too

Shocking "predictions"^^^^

Looking at the standings from the past 3 seasons there's nothing even close to outrageous about my predictions. They're probably only behind a small handful of teams in points over the past 3 years. Probably in playoff wins too.

Hell, last year they had the second best record in the league.

Obviously you disagree and think they are going to fall... but it's not like they lost any good players. So even though you disagree, I don't see how it's a ridiculous homer "prediction." Like it's so bad that it get's quotations cause it's not even a real prediction.

Well its definitely a homer prediction, but its none of it is out of the realm of possibility. The Habs are a good team, and Subban and Price are unquestionably among the best at their position in the league.

If Galchenyuk breaks out this year then they are serious contenders. Might not happen this year though.

Price is still one of the best goalies in the league without question - but I just don't see him repeating what he did last year. He carried that team.

Why is picking a team that's been one of the best teams in the league each of the past 3 seasons a homer pick? And this isn't based on any sort of huge anomoly for the Habs. They've been consistently at the top for 3 years. Including last year where they were 2nd overall in the league. Shit, a bunch of you took TBay who hasn't been as good as the Habs.

Past 3 seasons avg points (with the lockout year adjusted to 82 games.)

1. Chicago 114
2. Anaheim 113
3. Pittsbugh 110
4. St. Louis 108
5. Montreal 106
5. Boston 106
7. NY Rangers 102
8. Los Angeles 99
8. San Jose 99
10. Minnesota 97
11. Detroit 96
11. Washington 96
13. Vancouver 95
14. Ottawa 94
15. T.Bay 92 (104 the past 2 seasons)
15. Columbus 92
17. Brooklyn 91
18. Colorado 90
18. Winnipeg 90
20. Philadelphia 87
20. Nashville 87
22. New Jersey 83
22. Toronto 83
24. Dallas 82
24. Calgary 82
26. Arizona 77
27. Carolina 75
28. Florida 73
29. Edmonton 69
30. Buffalo 63

Why is picking a team that's been one of the best teams in the league each of the past 3 seasons a homer pick?

Because if you weren't a Hans fan you wouldn't pick the Habs to finish 1st, and win the cup and pretty much every individual trophy. Clearly it's a set of homer picks. Why pretend like it isn't?
