Habs News & Notes: 2019 Offseason

Re: Habs News & Notes: 2017-18 Regular Season

Mete?? That's an horrible comparison.

He played nearly 500 games with 35-40 point totals and was a PP specialist . We are going way overboard on his Mete`s upside .

He isnt Krug . If can play on our top 6 for 5-7 years thats a bonus.

He will need to get dealt to put up some numbers , not happening on this putrid D .

Style wise it's an horrible comparison. MAB had way more offensive skills than Mete, including a booming shot, while Mete is better defensively now than MAB ever was.

yeah , if Mete can be something like Spurgeon , that would be a bonus for the team.

I am suggesting if he can even be a MAB as a fourth rounder I will take it .

Some are way overhyping his ability .

Re: Habs News & Notes: 2017-18 Regular Season

The games changed, it favors high end skaters and Mete has elite skating ability for a Dman, he’ll never be a big point producer though.
The game would have to change a hell of a lot more before a 5 foot nothing defenceman could ever become a difference maker. Mete's NHL ceiling is as a third pairing guy so who gives a crap about burning a year of his ELC?

Plenty of 5'9-10 defensemen had highly successful career in the league. Rafalski and Campbell come to mind.

It's piss poor management.

Ryan Ellis is part of Nashville's 4 Defensemen of the apocalypse.

Ellis was one of the best junior players in his draft year. He was dominant and a legit top 15 pick . If he was 6'2" he would of gone top 5.

Yup. Granted, one doesn't want a team full of Ryan ellis's but the odd high skill little guy defenseman can definitely do wonders.

Scary that Nashville has done this well with ellis not having played a match yet.

No surprise at all for me . They still have 3 solid D and now after years of inept they can score goals .

They have been drafting , developing and trading from a position of strength for years.

They have finally arrived without the moronic bandaids deals or BS rhetoric speeches like us .

They have arrived as contenders with their plan set years ago .

Re: Habs News & Notes: 2017-18 Regular Season

Nashville will never win a thing without a proven leader like Shea Weber.

Never "led" them past the 2nd round.

I like Weber, but the expectations some have for Weber's leadership are actually unfair to him. He's never been a true "leader" - whatever that is.

Re: Habs News & Notes: 2017-18 Regular Season

Pacioretty and Drouin are back together at practice.

Pacioretty - Drouin - Byron
Galchenyuk - Danault - Shaw
Hudon - Plekanec - Gallagher
Deslauriers - Froese - Carr
(de la Rose)

Re: Habs News & Notes: 2017-18 Regular Season

I know Gallagher is doing well but I'd rather have him with Drouin and Patch.
