Window is open and teams are already making moves

Barcelona summer signings Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan could make their debuts this week after the 14-month ban on the club registering players expired.

Defender Vidal signed for £13m from Sevilla and will wear 22 while 28-year-old midfielder Turan, who joined from Atletico Madrid, gets the No.7 shirt.

Just 2 of the 77 players Barca registered when their ban expired.

Newcastle United have signed England midfielder Jonjo Shelvey from Premier League relegation rivals Swansea City for £12m.

Went from England squad to not making the Swansea squad the last few weeks, change of scenery will hopefully help.

Liverpool have signed central defender Steven Caulker on loan until the end of season from Championship side QPR.

Sensible move since it seems all their centre halfs are injured at the moment.

I've never been able to make my mind up about Shelvey, sometimes he looks very much in control and really strong on the ball, other times like he's lost, or isn't into it.

Yeah totally agree, he is an all or nothing player. If Newcastle can get 4 or 5 months of the good Shelvey it might be enough to save them though.

Arsenal sign midfielder Mohammed Elneny from Basel for a reported £7 million fee. It had been in the works for a while but was held up pending a work permit. Wenger hopes to have him in the lineup on Sunday so that must have been resolved.

Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid have been banned from registering new players in the next 2 windows by FIFA for breaking the rules on signing players under 18. It's the same ban that Barcelona just completed. They can sign players but they can't play until the ban is completed. Real was also fined $360K, Atletico was fined $893K.

That's good news for Man United, gives them De Gea for at least another season after this one.

Watford have signed Morocco forward Nordin Amrabat from Spanish side Malaga.

Amrabat, 28, was on loan at the La Liga club last season before signing a permanent deal and has made 15 appearances this term.

Celtic doing their best to try and keep Rangers out of the Premier League.

He did all his scoring into Row Z at the Lane, watch him start lighting it up now. On the other hand, Levy got a heck of a good price for him.
