Francis Has Been Busy

A whole host of communications from the Organization this morning.

Curtis Joseph has been hired as a goaltending consultant. He'll work closely with the prospects in Charlotte and will be a resource for the junior and college goalies too. I suspect this has no impact on David Marcoux, since CuJo will not be working primarily with Ward and Lack.

Peter Andersson has been hired as an assistant coach in Charlotte. He served as Ulf's assistant at MoDo. Myles Fee has been hired as the Cherkers video coach and Bryn-Marc Conaway will be the strength and conditioning coach.

Clearing up loose ends before free agency, I guess. That are all very positive seeming moves, I think.

Without knowing the specific qualities of the individuals announced today, I'm impressed by Ronnie's focus on the nuts and bolts of building a solid organization for the long haul. He may not be flashy, but he has a vision and knows where he wants to go.

I know Bill Burniston on more of a personal level than professional and I don't know if I've ever met a more approachable and dedicated guy. He's done a lot of work with Cam over the past couple of years in terms of physical training and flexibility/injury prevention/treatment.

Curtis Joseph would seemingly be an excellent NHL-prep mentor for Alex Nedeljkovic.

- Cujo listed at 5'11" and 190 lbs when playing
- Alex listed at 6'0" and 180 lbs as a junior

Similar athletic style, with Cujo playing before the goalie uniform/equipment (now trending smaller) got so bulky.

Good hire.

Funniest tweet I saw about CuJo signing was that even at 49 years old, he is probably no worse than the 2nd best goalie on the Canes roster!
