Catching up on the lower divisions in the Football League as their seasons wrap up
Championship: One match left. Brighton & Hove Albion and Newcastle are promoted, Albion have a 1 point lead for the championship, Newcastle have a 8 goal advantage. Reading, Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield Town have clinched spots in the playoffs but the seedings are TBD with 1 match left. Fulham has essentially clinched the last spot with a 3 point lead over Leeds United but a 13 goal advantage in goal differential. Rotherham United and Wigan have been relegated. Blackburn Rovers and Nottingham Forest are tied on points but Nottingham has a 1 goad advantage. Birmingham City is still in the mix for relegation, with a 2 point lead. Blackburn are at 10th place Brentford, Nottingham Forest are home to 16th place Ipswich Town and Birmingham are at 17th place Bristol City.
League 1: Season complete. Sheffield United are champions, Bolton Wanderers get the 2nd promotion place. Scun thorpe United, Fleetwood Town, Bradford City and Millwall are in the playoffs. Port Vale, Swindon Town, Coventry City and Chesterfield are relegated.
League 2: One match left. Plymouth Argyle, Doncaster Rovers and Portsmouth are promoted. Luton Town and Exeter City have qualified for the playoffs. The last 2 playoffs are a jumble. Carlisle United and Blackpool have the spots now. But 5 other teams still have a chance with 12th place Mansfield Town trailing 6th place Carlisle United by 3 points with a 4 goal advantage. Leyton Orient have been relegated. Hartlepool United are in the other spot but a 2 goal win at home to Doncaster, combined with a loss or draw by Newport County will save them.
National League: Season complete. FA Cup quarterfinalists Lincoln City are champions. Tranmere Rovers, Forest Green Rovers, Dagenham & Redbridge and Aldershot Town are in the playoffs.
