2017 NHL Entry Draft

Here are some players I would see of interest if available and in some general order of preference based on a little reading/scanning . A few high risk-high reward types here it seems:

First round

Nick Suzuki unlikely available ?
Kailer Yamamoto F
Jason Robertson F
Jarrett Anderson-Dolan F
Eric Brannstrom D unlikely available ?
Grant Mismash F
Ostap Safin F
Joni Ikonen F
Jake Oettinger G
Ivan Lodnia F

Next Tier for beyond if available

Dylan Sandberg D
Alexi Lipanov F
Antoine Morand F
Jonah Gadjovich F
Kristian Veselainen F
Henri Jokiharju D
Ian Mitchell D

I have never seen them play, so comments welcome.

Is Yamamoto related to Admiral Yamamoto?

Bowers finished 12th in USHL scoring as a 17 year old. He could develop into a scorer

The best USHLers never see their 18 and 19 year old seasons, they've left for college. Bowers won't see his either, he'll be gone to BU.

12th in scoring (and well under a PPG) isn't that impressive to be honest.

Its not bad.

He's got a good two way game. If people thought he was going to be a first liner, he wouldn't be sitting in the rankings in the 20s and 30s in this draft class.

I'd rather go for more offensive upside at that pick.... Thomas, Norris, Chytil, for me.

Bob McKenzie released TSN's final rankings today.

No thanks to stay at home d

I agree...

Furthermore, that's why I don't agree with protecting Benn over Beaulieu......dmen take years to develop....not saying Beaulieu would have progressed more, but he represents the NHL of today, and he's a more valuable commodity than guys like Benn.

Ok, wrong thread....

Urho, the boring D man with no offense to his game has moved up to # 22 and maybe out of the Habs reach. What to do? I think the Habs want this guy.

While I doubt it'll happen, if Elias Petterson were to drop in the mid-teens, I'd trade at least one of our second round picks to move up.
