No love for the FA Cup...

All matches held the weekend of January 28 and 29.

Not a fun draw, really. It's better when there are more Prem teams going against each other in the earlier rounds, and more chances for lower tier teams to progress.

These are the US TV matches on Fox Sports 1:

Today:
Derby County v. Leicester 2:55

Saturday:
Liverpool v. Wolves 7:30
Chelsea v. Brentford 10:00
Southampton v. Arsenal 12:30

Sunday:
Millwall v. Watford 7:00

Fox Sports + has a couple of matches too, you can probably see them on the Fox Sports Go app

The draw for Round 5 Proper was held today. Little Sutton United, 16th in the National League, with their 5,000 seat (765 seated) ground will host Arsenal. Lincoln City, 1st in the National League, is the only other non-league team left.

Burnley v. Lincoln City
Fullham v. Spurs
Blackburn Rovers v. Man U
Sutton United v. Arsenal
Middlesbrough v. Oxford United
Wolves v. Chelsea
Huddersfield Town v. Man City
Millwall v. Derby County/Leicester (replay to be played 2/8)

Feel certain that Lincoln wanted a bigger name than Burnley, but Sutton have been absolutely over the moon with their Arsenal draw.

I watched Sutton-Leeds but didn't notice the away stands until I saw a photo online. "Stands" is literal: no seats. Capacity maybe a couple hundred. They should charge Arsenal supporters five hundred quid each, they could probably still fill it.

Given their recent woes, if Arsenal find a way to drop this one, the meltdown will be epic. Epic.

Arsenal have to travel to Chelsea on Saturday and Munich in 2 weeks before they even get to Sutton. The meltdown started with Tuesday's loss to Watford, washing away all the good feelings of the drubbing of Southampton on the weekend. They could be in a freefall by then.

Round 5 Proper schedule:

Saturday:
Burnley v. Lincoln City 7:30/12:30 Fox Sports 1
Huddersfield Town v. Man City 10:00/15:00 Fox Sports 1
Millwall v. Leicester
Wolves v. Chelsea 12:30/17:30 Fox Sports 2

Sunday:
Fulham v. Spurs 9:00/14:00 Fox Sports 1
Blackburn v. Man U 11:15/16:15 Fox Sports 1

Monday:
Sutton United v. Arsenal 2:55/19:55 Fox Sports 1

FWIW, Huddersfield play a very disciplined step and press system that might make Man City a bit nuts. Not calling an upset per se, but rather pointing out that City might not have the walk in the park their fans expect.

City host Monaco on Tuesday in the Champions League. It would surprise me if they started more than a few guys you've ever heard of.

Missed a match...Middlesbrough v. Oxford United

Burnley 0-1 Lincoln City

Lincoln City are the first non-league club to make the quarterfinals since QPR in 1914.

Congrats to Lincoln, that is an amazing achievement.

Another shock in the 3 o'clock games

Millwall 1-0 Leicester

Millwall played most of the 2nd half with 10 men. Maybe shouldn't be a shock as they already knocked out Bournemouth and Watford.

And Leicester have been rubbish this calendar year.

Huddersfield Town 0-0 Man City
Middlesbrough 3-2 Oxford United
Wolves 0-2 Chelsea
Fulham 0-3 Spurs
Blackburn 1-2 Man U

The Quarterfinal draw:

Chelsea v Manchester United
Middlesbrough v Huddersfield Town or Manchester City
Tottenham Hotspur v Millwall
Sutton United or Arsenal v Lincoln City

Man City and Huddersfield Town replay is 2/28. Quarterfinals are the weekend of 3/11.

Sutton United 0-2 Arsenal

Theo Walcott becomes an Arsenal Centurion. But the big news? Social media posts of Wayne Shaw, Sutton's backup keeper in the bar at halftime...

https://mobile.twitter.com/chrisslegg/status/833789742193979395

And eating a pie on the bench...

And today, it is reported that he has resigned from Sutton under threat of a gambling investigation since there was an online book on whether or not he'd actually go through with eating the pie while in uniform on the bench.

At the risk of sounding like our current President ... sad.

I read that the investigation was a likely outcome.

It's why Las Vegas doesn't take prop bets on non-competitive activities, i.e., the over/under on how long the National Anthem will take at the Super Bowl. Set it for 1:50, and Luke Bryan could have made a fortune with a couple of pauses or by racing through it.
