I will get banned again soon, worry not.
Here in Canada we get on average about 9 paid stat days. i have a union job so I get 12 (who knew that Easter Monday was a paid stat? Well it is if you're in a union, baby) And not only do I get paid for them, I also get them as days off which I can use to augment my vacation time. And if I actually work the stat I get double time and a half.
Thanksgiving is the only paid holiday that most Americans get. They may get other days off, like Christmas, but they aren't paid days off.
