The Blues have clinched a spot in the playoffs but are still fighting for position. A point clinches 3rd in the Central and leaves Nashville as a wild card. Vladimir Tarasenko is 5th in the league with 38 goals and 12th in points with 72. Vladimir Sobotka returned to the Blues after 3 years in the KHL and may play today. He signed a 3 year/$10.5 million extension.
The Canes close out the home schedule looking to build on their first 50 point home season since 08-09. But they come in on a 4 game losing streak, the most recent a desultory 3-0 loss to the Islanders which saw most of the Canes skating aimlessly areounf the rink. They swapped forwards with the Cherkers yesterday, sending Poturalsky down and calling up Tolchinsky. We'll see where he slots at the morning skate. Expect Ward in goal.
Another Homegrown series game. Appalachian Mountain Brewery and Bold Rock Cider will be pouring flights outside section 101. I highly recommend the IPA cider. The feature food is a grilled pimento cheese sandwich with fried pickle chips on the side. That's at the stand outside section 109. The posters will be available outside section 108. The Pseudo Cowboys will be performing at the intermissions.
