Around the League - Regular Season 2018-19

Re: Around the League - Regular Season 2017-18

Rough night for us with Ottawa and Toronto winning. It's a shame that scoreboard watching has become important in a negative way already for us.

Despite that epic meltdown form BKerr, as expected making up ground after the poor start hasn't been easy.

Vegas wins, are something like 10-5. Could it be that you can randomly pick rejects off a list and ice a team that could conceivably go to or at least compete for playoffs? Really makes GMs at the helm for 4-5 years look good...hasn't going to or competing for a playoff spot been our organization's main goal for some years? And it took the Leafs some 15 years to get to that point.

And all this while shipping off the Russian.

Really thought Buffalo and Arizona would be better. And LA,New Jersey worse.

You look at Buffalo, there really is some talent up front, but year after year little or no improvement..thought Housley might get them going but little sign so far.....they have always been a thorn in our side though, right back to Perrault/Martin

It's way too early for scoreboard watching. It's a long season and all teams will go through peaks and valleys.

You're probably right, but it's more of a factor already than we expected it to be.

My point is that it's gonna be a long process for us to get back into the top 3. It's not gonna happen overnight. Games 40-50 is a big number for us. We can't be this far behind come that time.

???

Habs are 3-back of a playoff spot w 3-home game left on the home stand including a head-to-head vs division rival (Leafs) to end home stand.

10-days ago they stood 7+ pts back of a playoff spot, they simply need to be in the same spot a week from today, and they should be fine.

Re: Around the League - Regular Season 2017-18

Yeah he is. Too bad we drafted Beaulieu with our first pick that year and traded our second for half a season of Wisniewski.

thats drafting at its finest , just like the 2003 draft where I still :puke: and :cryin:

Re: Around the League - Regular Season 2017-18

To be fair, Kucherov was drafted 58th overall, a lot of teams missed him twice.

Re: Around the League - Regular Season 2017-18

Sven Andrighetto: 5 goals, 12 pts in 17 games, after all it seems the success of the end of the season last year wasn't only an accident.

He is shit , he will only produce on crap teams that have to put him and Yakopov's on their top 9 .

Somehow we miss them all from the 20's to the 50's . TB did a masterful job building that top with only Stammer as a high pick .

Lol...you should listen to the Avs reporters talk about him.

He's not playing that well....they've nicknamed him the turnover machine

The Lightning have acquired Louis Domingue from the Coyotes for Michael Leighton and Tye McGinn.

Brett Connolly was #6 overall too. He never panned out... but he was a high pick.

Re: Around the League - Regular Season 2017-18

Getting guys like Johnson, Kucherov, Palat and Killorn outside of the first round was a major turning point for this franchise.
