Re: Around the League - Playoffs 2018
Yeah their team was stacked.
Massive failure for the Lightning.

Interesting as both Preds and TBay wilted in their game 7 performances & both goalies were outperformed by the opponent - would’ve at least expected both to put forth a strong effort...I guess you can't win the cup with a elite center, tampa sucks, flawed team.
LOL
Not really. Caps are very good.
Stamkos and Kucherov were nowhere. Point was their most dangerous guy.
Yeah, if the Habs had performed the the Bolts over the last 2 games the internet bashing would have been unbearable, fans would be clamoring for a Kucherov for "playoff warrior" Pacioretty trade. That said, the Capitals are still the real deal, maybe they've finally learned how to get it done after years of disappointment, kind of like the Red Wings of the late 90's.

Maybe, just maybe, the Bolts didn't choke. Could it be the Caps were a better team than many gave them credit for?

Not scoring a goal the last two games is a choke, even if the other team is playing well
Lightning needs a better attitude. Maybe we can trade them Weber for Hedman.
Expectations for the Caps were much lower this season. That's probably the biggest reason for their playoff success.
