Around the League - Regular Season 2018-19

Re: Around the League - Regular Season 2017-18

Nathan MacKinnon is the hottest player in the NHL point wise in the last 10 days.
4GP - 2G / 7A / 9Pts

He currently sits 2nd in the league in points behind Nikita Kucherov with 52 pts in 41 games.

The Colorado Avalanche are currently holding the last Wild Card spot in the Western Conference.

Pretty unbelievable to see how Colorado turned their season around after they got rid of Matt Duchesne.

This is the NM expected from being the first pick . I thought he would be a top 5 player in the league by year 2 , he has incredible skills .

Re: Around the League - Regular Season 2017-18

No way, he has 6 more years after this season at close to 7M.

The inevitable day of reckoning is coming to the Hawks . Aging vets on monster deals from winning those cups.

Team will be lucky to make the playoffs and will be fun how Stan manoeuvres around this .

The day of reckoning is easier when you can look back on three Cups. It's much harder when all you've done over a six year period is get worse.

Yes but if Belicheck was the GM, even after 3 Cups, he would have traded Seabrook-Toews instead of giving them ridiculous contracts....same with Price

The beauty for an NFL GM is that you can hand out ridiculous contracts and cut the players without too much cap damage. Most of the money is not guaranteed.

Apparently there is going to be at least a one year delay to the start of construction of the Islanders new digs by Belmont Park. Cue up the Taveres is walking on July 1 rumors . . .

They could have just dealt Toews for a kings ransom....at his peak, TSN guys were debating if he was better than Crosby (and that was after Hawks won 3 Cups)...giving a slightly above average points producer 10.5M is ''almost'' like Habs giving Alzner that contract...ok, maybe not the best example

Tavares coming to Montreal rumours are really heating up, maybe MB's last chance to save his job.

The Blackhawks have acquired Anthony Duclair and Adam Clendening from the Coyotes for Richard Panik and Laurent Dauphin.

Teams that win cups always overpay to retain their core . There was no way the Hawks or any team were not paying Kane and JT , just like Kopitar was going to get his money in LA.

Plus they were 25 and 26 and the team was legit . The problem is when you extend big deals to support players on these teams . Brown and Gabs should of been let go ,those were stupid deals .

3 cups you deal with the mess later on ,better than winning shit like us and having the same mess.
