Derek Ryan-Masterton Finalist

Craig Anderson is going to win but Derek Ryan is certainly a deserving finalist. Good for him. He should be a fine 3rd liner for another team next year.
 
I was kind of surprised when this new hot, but good on Doc. Sticking out his journey in Europe for that long requires some serious fortitude.

I asked Mike Sundheim about Bickell. He referred me to Luke's column linked below.

At the time the nominations were due, Bickell was still playing in Charlotte, with no guarantee that he'd make it back to the NHL. The Carolina chapter of the PWHA asked for dispensation to substitute Bickell but national voting was already underway. With MacArthur returning even later than Bickell, I suspect the answer is the same.
