Habs sign Jakub Jerabek to one-year deal

It's floating around twitter that the Habs have possibly signed KHL defender Jakub Jerabek. We'll see.

(I didn't follow it around for a source, so don't shoot the messenger.)

A couple weeks ago, Alan Walsh said he was coming to the NHL.

25-year old D, would be signing a 1 year ELC

5 goals, 34 points in 59 KHL games this year.

Undersized a bit (5'10). Good skater. Great passer. Good wrister, Decent but not the best slapshot.

Being reported on RDS who are repeating a report from russian newspaper R-Sport.

Not officially a UFA til May 1st, so we might have to wait a couple days.

I did a general search on him, but can't really determine how good he is. His assist totals are nice. Not very big though (that's what she said to Count).

If we sign him on May 1. I'm guessing he will not need to be protected as he will be on a ELC

So is this guy an everyday 3rd pairing guy (Beaulieu replacement) or a Nesterov replacement?
