Wouldn't surprise me if they changed their ceiling potential on him . I never liked him in the top 3

Now with skating his biggest flaw in this speed and pace league , let's see what he can do .

Yes, I have heard that is a big issue with him.

It's the same thing with Gabriel Vilardi. Both of them are very skilled and would be great players if they were born 20 years earlier.

They will always able to dominate leagues like the OHL and the AHL because the speed of the game there is noticeably slower. However, with the NHL game being so much about speed and being able to backcheck into defensive structure, I'm not sure either one of them will ever make major impacts in the NHL unless they figure out a way to improve their skating.

If the game was played only in the offensive zone, they'd be top line players, but alas...
Elite goaltending will hide a lot of a bad team's flaws and make them look a lot better than they truly are. That's why Carey Price is the single most important player to his team in the NHL.

My new poorly written out thoughts on this season's Montreal Canadiens.

Scott Wheeler also has the Habs as one of this five winners of the draft.

Is that an issue with the Finn as well?

Overall I thought the draft was pretty good. Well D heavy last year and now centre heavy.

I do not see a Fucale or McCarron so I call it a win.

He went as projected coming into the draft 2nd to early 3rd round.

Jay O’Brien was supposed to be an early-mid 2nd rounder, I had a feeling some team would go off the board and take him early...Philly did.

Ya. Just proof that some teams draft lists vary wildly and probably even more so once you get past the first round.

He's not a great skater, but he's better than Strome & Vilardi. I also think he can improve and be good in all three zones, all assuming he gets ice time, proper coaching, stays implicated, etc.

I was impressed with our draft . Skill, speed and a few potential long term mid round picks .

I hope Romanov comes over for our development camp and we can get an update from a FI member if they attend.

Strome and Vilardi will have to work extra hard on positioning and be smart defensively to make up for foot speed .

You cant teach skill and smarts

Romanov will probably be the only one that pans out.
