Their GM tinkered and fu*ked up the roster , like our boy MB.
They have the best 1-2C combo for the next decade plus Nurse and this top pick, they will be fine

IMO need at least 3 legit NHLers from this draft
Not a chance , this draft is one the deepest top 60 in years . 3-4 players from this draft could vault into our top 6 prospect pool right away .

Our definition of "legit" is probably different than Bergevin's. He could draft another DLR, Froese and Benn, who are all "legit" NHLers by the strictest definition of the term.

I probably wouldn't either, but we all know that MB is probably going to attempt something. Those second rounders likely don't help his tenure.

Yep, the mandate in Montreal, whether stated publicly or not, is win now. Make money now. Get playoff gates now. This is how a GM or coach keeps his job; not by undertaking protracted tear-down and rebuild projects that last for years, however much they may be needed. It's like the old jalopy that you need to get to work in. You can't afford to properly fix the car or buy a new one so you patch it up as cheaply and as quickly as possible just good enough that it runs.
