Boisvert is all about skills and ceilings but he's guilty of falling for style over substance. He likes danglers and flash. Most of the times it's good, but he tends to overlook other aspects.

    Default 2018 NHL Entry Draft

In terms of physical strength/power I agree, but this is where elite skating in the way the NHL game being played & called by the refs allows Hughes types to overcome what would’ve been insurmountable obstacle a few years back - especially with a partner like Weber.

I could see Hughes follow a McAvoy trajectory - do the year at college, and join Habs towards year end if he dominates WJC.

MB is either drafting or trading the pick for a player(s) that will be in the lineup next season.

There is no way MB drafts someone and sends them to the AHL (or elsewhere).

Even though both MB and TT have been on record to say they're not looking for a short term fix?

Yup. His love for Andreas Athanasiou being the most obvious.

But overall, I much prefer his way of looking at prospects than most. Draft players you think have a shot of becoming top-end talent. Obviously, he (like everyone else) will be wrong about some.

What I like about him is that he has a history of calling players long before the mainstream prospect followers do. He called Jeff Skinner, Viktor Arvidson, Nico Hischier waaaayyy before any of them had them on their radars. He was advocating some teams taking Arvidson in his year of draft eligibility.

I personally don't care about people, outside of Bob McKenzie because his lists are actually meant to be this way, who make consensus lists with little to no controversy. They take no risk whatsoever and never go against the grain. They make no bold predictions whatsoever and everything is done so that they can avoid as much criticism as possible. For all of Craig Button's faults, I will always give him time for his prospect lists because he bases them on his real opinion and isn't trying to catter to anyone.

Yeah, same here, I like Button's because they tend to reflect how real teams make their list. Boisvert has been more right than wrong but I know his style so I understand his bias.

Heck if Mete was, why not Hughes? He seemed to hold his own at the World Champions.

Don't why then he dropped Zadina to 7 though, he's definitely in the top 3 in skills and flash and dash. And everyone is saying Zadina is not close to being NHL ready.

If Hughes isn't NHL ready, he's close. I think he'd be just fine as a team's third pairing d-man.

I wouldn't want him to be on the Canadiens' 2018-2019 roster, though. He'd be the best left handed d-man on the roster.

Hughes is a no-brainer according to Boisvert.

I don't know much about Bokk but he's been very high on Hughes and Wahlstrom for a while and I'm guessing he's giving the edge on the Finn because he's a center.

    Copernicus?

    Facetiousness?

Gucci I can see. Copernicus? I’m not sure Bergevin knows the earth isn’t the center of the universe.

There seems to be a late push for Noah Dobson, even if we don’t trade down, and stay at no. 3. I think there’s at least a 40 percent chance we trade down. Just speculating but it does not seem that management is in love with Zadina the way Carolina is with the Russian.

Given that Dobson is a RHD, I don't see it happening at all.

I would take all this pre-draft chatter with a grain of salt. Reporters have zero idea of what teams are discussing. They're just feeding speculation to a fan base hungry for news.

Any chance the Leafs push for Habs 3rd pick to net Dobson/Boqvist/Bouchard along with another component (pick/prospect) in return for Nylander?
