Our Aho is Finnish. The other Aho is from Sweden.

Checkers split the weekend series, winning Saturday's game. Zykov, Samuelsson and Schilkey had the goals, Ned was in goal. Lucas Walmart had assists in all 3 goals and now leads the AHL in scoring with 8 points in 4 games.

They have a 3 game roadie next weekend, in Rochester on Friday and Toronto on Saturday and Sunday.

Not to steal CM's thunder, but Stelio Mattheos is on fire for Brandon. He had 3 assists yesterday and has 19 points in 10 games.

For those on Twitter, @Canesprospects is a good follow.

Glad that Mattheos is lighting up the WHL. Always fun to see mid round picks at least generate some buzz in juniors after they are drafted. Sure is more fun then looking at Eetu Luostarinen's Liiga stats.

That might explain why his stats are so hard to find.

He's played 15 games, has a 2.95 GAA and a .923 Sv%. Haven't been able to find his W-L record, but who cares?

Was reading on the Cherkers site that Gauthier was benched after 3 straight games to start the season without a point. This is also in part because of the glut of forwards they have down there, it made it easy to give the kid a night off and have a seat in the presser so he can re-group. It was noted still to be somewhat of a surprise as he is one of the more highly regarded prospects joigning the team this season.
