Let’s not give them too much credit. It’s easy to be magnanimous when you win. Where were the ads congratulating the Penguins the last few years? That would have been impressive.

Toronto finally has a cup. The Marlies won the Calder Cup, beating the Texas Stars 6-1 to win the series 4-3. They had the best record in the AHL, finishing with 112 points, 8 more than Lehigh Valley.
Based on a quick trawl through Twitter after the game last night, that doesn't seem to have modified the "Canada needs to win the Cup" crowd in the least. Turns out they weren't talking about the Calder Cup. Who knew?
