GDT: Game #29 | Blues vs. Canadiens | Dec 5, 2017 | 7:30p

Re: GDT: Game #29 | Blues vs. Canadiens| Dec 5, 2017 | 7:30p

Flyers even took 4.7 M salary in return by taking Jori Lehtera.....

That's an incredible deal for Blues....

No excuses.

Its one of those clever trades that we never seem to have the knack to make

Instead we have to deal our blue chip prospect to get help

I thought Bergy was in on every deal....or so we're told by Bob McKenzie, Lebrun, McGuire, Miller, Friedman and friends

Didn't mention the part Hextall said he wanted a defensive C coming back as part of the deal, and Plekanec being the Habs only counter.

Would anyone have dealt Danault + 1st? That what would've got the deal done.

It starts with good drafting ie. if you draft Shea Theodore instead of McCarron, trading Chevy does not decimate your pipeline

Yup & understanding what ur org core competency is & playing to your strengths - I.e Preds hitting home run after home run on Dman, allowing the Johansen deal to become reality.

With McNiven in the pipeline, MBs only hope is to strike gold w Lindgren.

you wouldn't trade two low 1st rounders for Schenn ?

I probably make that deal if I'm the Blues, not the Habs.

Not convinced Schenn is the guy we should have been spending 2 1st round picks on. A 50 pts 2nd line player who's been bouncing from center to wing. Also our first round pick this year will be worth quite a bit more than the Blues'.

Great start for him with the Blues this year though.

We're better off trading Price.....Lindgren won't fetch us much

But then if you trade Price, you are a lottery team, thanks to our piss-poor drafting/development

I should've added or deal Max for 2-NHL ready components

So funny how Bergy takes risks on guys like Shaw (two second rounders), but hesitates on guys like Schenn

Schenn would of had 12 points with us right now , who we kidding .

Are you giving up 2 firsts ? How is that Drouin trade looking like now .

Bottom line our forward acquisitions simply revert to the mean of what we have on our roster .

Unfortunately Habs had no Lehtera to give up, and Hextall said he wanted a shutdown C as part of the deal.

Guessing Plekanec did little to make Hextall salivate....

Lehtora has been shit in Philly , they would dump him in a second if they could and he never was the deal breaker . A contract had to go back to Philly.

They needed to make some changes and made this deal when the landed Patrick in the draft .

You would of had to add our our first this year or in 2019 as well.

I see Schenn is the flavour of the day.

Refs ****ed us in 3rd just before the fluke winner.

The Blues are just a better team. 67 was AWOL/MIA . . . again.

I love how he's driving towards the net, could just go around the dmen by using his big frame, but ALWAYS breaks at the face-off circle and takes a low percentage shot from there.

He is right now the definition of a perimeter player...he sticks to the boards and have rarely seen him attack the center of the ice.
